What this means to me is that people go to war for freedom. They fight for freedom. Sometimes they even die for freedom. Sometimes it can destroy people 's lives forever. The cost of freedom can be priceless it’s so valuable. Isn’t freedom suppose to mean the power to have the right to act, speak, or think as one wants without restraint. But that’s not true. Liberty Or Death It can be hard wanting to make a change within a whole country, and to lead a revolution can be a difficult task. During the revolutionary times Americans wanted their freedom from Great Britain, but most people of those days were uneducated and possibly full of fear for change, but all they needed somebody to influence them and show a little emotion towards them it would be more relatable to them. I used Patrick Henry’s “Speech to the Virginia Convention” the persuasive technique used is pathos, many people were angry when Henry told them the truth of what will happen if they trust the British, and readied them for a war they will have to fight.
When people describe freedom, they usually think of the laws we have to keep our freedom and make this country great. But, freedom isn’t just the laws our government has made to ensure the keeping of peace between all, it’s the past, present, and future of this nation. Freedom isn’t just our laws, though they are a big part of how we live our lives in modern society, but it’s mentality and remembering how it was earned in the first place through knowing what was best for them. The ones who fought for our freedom from Britain are one of the first things that we should think about when we are reminded of freedom in my opinion.
The Sons of Liberty was a secret organization that began its rage in 1765. This vicious group committed cruel and brutal acts. They were set against the idea of the stamp act. Many believed that the sons of liberty were heroes, but truly they were an organization of fanatics. The name “ Sons of Liberty” was taken from Isaac Barre’s speech.
According to dictionary.com, freedom means “political or national independents”, but in reality it means much more than that. During the revolutionary war, four thousand four hundred and thirty-five lives were lost in order to gain independence and freedom for all Americans. I believe that freedom means that people can express themselves however they want and that they can make decisions for themselves. I think that this is true because people can choose their religion, have the freedom of speech, and can stand up for what they believe is right. Freedom of religion was part of the First Amendment to the Declaration of Independence, which means that people are able to choose their religion and can freely worship.
Therefore, freedom is an illusion. For example, if we wanted to use our freedom of speech toward law enforcement we would face consequences for disrespecting an authority. Although, the first amendment is supposed to protect us, it does not excuse us from hindrance or consequences. The illusion that we have freedom is merely something created by the ruling power because they create and determine what actions the general public are able to do according to the
“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that and enhances the freedom of others.” What this quote means is it takes hard work to be free. This means that no matter how vulgar or bias words you say you all ways Furthermore this right means that you can have religious freedom and you can be in any religion you want without any restraints. Freedom is the ability to love whomever we want, It is when you give without expecting a favor, It is the power to forgive when you've been mistaken, it is the capability to do right without being proud of it. To me Freedom is America, Freedom is the 13 horizontal stripes and the 50 stars waving in the wind, and finally Freedom is for everyone to be equal, yet different in his or her own way. Freedom to me is America, as simple as that. On July 4th, 1776 America gained freedom from Great Britain, for this is one of the most important dates in American history.
Freedom is a right. Freedom was given to us by the Founding Fathers. Freedom gives us no restrictions. The First Amendment gives us citizens the right to freedom of speech, allowing us to talk about our beliefs without restriction. Freedom gives us the right to help others through hard times and improve our communities.
Two Concepts of Liberty Summary of the essay: In this essay, the famous political theorist Isaiah Berlin tries to differentiate between the notions of positive liberty and negative liberty. Berlin briefly discusses the meaning of the word ‘freedom’. He says that a person is said to free when no man or body of men interferes with his activity. He makes reference to many philosophers in the essay, but there is more emphasis on the thoughts of J. S. Mill and Rousseau, the former being a firm advocate of negative liberty while the latter believes strongly in the ideals of positive liberty.
From the genocides of different ethics, to freedom is taken away in minority nations. Angela Davis expresses her views on political aspects of hard punishment upon human beings Americas’ society. A Constitutional Perspective on The Preservation of Liberty To establish which amendment in the Bill of Rights is the most influential to the preservation of liberty, one must first determine the true meaning of the word liberty. The Oxford dictionary defines liberty as “The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behaviour, or political views.” Not only is this one of the core values ingrained into the base of our American culture, but it is also one of the main characteristics of a successful community (“First Amendment.”) Many societies argue that citizens do not have basic rights, the first amendment does the best job at protecting the nation's rights from the government by giving individuals freedom of speech, religion, and freedom of petition. The First Amendment has five freedoms guaranteed for the American people’s such as the right to religion, speech, and petition.
The main idea of freedom is to be respectful and helpful to the community. Freedom is not endless. Freedom should be limited in some circumstances for the benefits of the community. You can't just do whatever you want just saying that “I have freedom.” We can’t kill people, do things illegally.
Freedom means the power or right to act, speak, or think without restraint, and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. Freedom is the correction to do what he/she wants, live life, and eat what he/she wants. How do we live free? We live free by not judging other people’s freedom rights. Everyone has their own rights.
