Hello Family,
Yesterday I went to a training in regards to the new open carry gun law. It is a very disturbing and dangerous law. The law basically states that a license person may carry a gun openly in public. There are some exceptions to this law. The person must have the gun in a holster when carried on his body. The gun can only be carried on the waist line or shoulder. There are places in where you are not able to legally carry a gun regardless of being licensed. Some of these places are as follows:
• Courts
• School
• Churches
• passenger transportation vehicle of a school or educational institution
• Secured areas in Airport
• Racetrack
• Places where criminal are being executed
Although these areas are off limits to carrying openly or concealed guns, two signs must be posted are a verbal statement made telling everyone that this is a no gun zone. The two signs must be in English and Spanish. It must be one sign for concealed

However, the property owner must notify the gun owner and give him time to get off the property. Notification can be a sign or verbal. It must be from the property owner. If it is a sign then there must be two signs in English and Spanish. It must be one sign for concealed handguns and another sign for open to carry handguns. Please see attached examples of signs. The signs must be at every entrance, per the Harris County Attorney’s office. If a person bring a gun on property then he could be charge with a class “C” misdemeanor. However, the owner can verbal tell someone that he not allowed to bring a gun on his property. He must give the gun owner and opportunity to get off the property with the gun. If the gun owner refuses to take the gun off the property then he could be charge with a class “A” misdemeanor. This can be up to a year in
C. Precedent The law is unconstitutional not only due to the meaning of the text itself, but also from many cases of precedent. District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008) and McDonald v. City of Chicago, 130 S. Ct. 3020 (2010) have already established the importance of the Second Amendment, but there are other cases as well that back up the courts decision claiming the ban on carrying a concealed weapon is unconstitutional. In Bliss v. Commonwealth, 2 Litt. 90, (KY 1822), established that the right to bear arms was for defense against themselves and the state. This case consisted of a man carrying a concealed weapon in his cane and it is similar to the one in which we face today.
In America, guns are allowed with a permit which allows mostly everyone to have a gun. Carrying a concealed gun in public is dangerous for not only yourself, but the people around you as
The U.S is one of the biggest advocates for gun rights and also the world leading country for gun ownership. Most recent data shows that we hold first place for country with the most guns per capita at 88.8 per 100 persons.(cbcnews.com) You would think that a country that supports gun ownership that much would allow for them to be carried everywhere with certain exceptions. Our right to keep a gun is protected by the second amendment, which says “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” One of the most controversial topics regarding guns is weather or not we should be allowed to carry them on school buildings.
And there are so many reasons why. A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. This is the second amendment of the United States Constitution which was written in 1791 and has been debated ever since. Conceal and carry is the practice of carrying a weapon in
Updating the Amendment 2.0 The right to bear arms has been a favoured constitutional law since its establishment in 1791, but as more gun related violence and accidents occur, there has been increasing debate on whether or not guns should be banned in the US altogether, and if not, what regulations should be required for the purchase and handling of them. While guns should not be completely banned from the country, the rules and regulations of gun laws should be tightened. In the 2nd amendment, it clearly states that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” While this statement still holds true, the evolution of firearms and how they have become more dangerous throughout the years is a clear sign of why the laws should be changed.
While Gun control laws can never be to strict, Gun Control in new jersey is very regulated because gun control is also pushing back on who can purchase, New jersey gun Laws are some of the strictest in the nation, and Firearms have to be transported safely. There are permits that you have to get before you can purchase a gun. There is also a concealed carriers permit you can get if you are in a domestic violence relationship. What many people forget about and where people get in trouble is when they are not being careful with their guns when they are on there property, even though you are on your property with a gun you still have to be careful with when you take it out.
In the constitution it states, that its our right to bear arms. Were allowed to keep guns in our possession for fun or just protection. 59% of homes in america have a firearm which can be stolen from other people and soon your guns will become a part of illegal gun trafficking. When gun control laws came in affect gun crime spiked to 89% or 18 million cases for gun
"Would you rather just sit there and cower underneath a desk while someone executes you and your friends or would you rather have a chance to defend your life? That's what it really boils down to," says Michael Flitcraft, a 23-year-old sophomore at the University of Cincinnati. Flitcraft has become a leading advocate and organizer for Students for Concealed Carry on Campus (SCCC), a grass-roots organization that was formed after the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre that left 32 college students and professors dead (Arena). The organization now boasts a membership exceeding 42,000 college students, professors, college employees and parents who believe that holders of state-issued concealed handgun licenses should be allowed to extend those rights
Introduction Looking at the nightly news, many would believe violent crimes are at an all-time high. There are not just one on one violent crimes or gang violent crimes. There is court shootings, school shootings, church shootings, theater shootings, mall shootings, workplace shootings, and others. Where most one on one crime is committed with illegal guns, mass shootings are done with handguns purchased legally.
If Texas allows students to open carry their own weapons in school, hundreds more similar incidents may occur. The only time a state should be allow laxed gun laws is when the people have total and complete faith among each other, which is something that we currently lack in the country as of now. As public shootings occurrences continue to rise in the country, the people clearly are not ready to handle the situations by themselves. The Campus carry Law is not a step to better and protect the people as it will increase the rick of others, will not make people feel safe, and lead to more
Imagine enjoying a nice party at your local cabana, only for you to hear a loud bang, and look over to see your friend lying on the ground, dead. This problem you are facing is known as gun control, and is a issue that has faced the U.S for many years. gun control is the debate on whether or not laws around guns should be tightened or not. Today, I will prove to you what gun control is, who is affected by it, and what we can do to solve it. Gun control is a problem that tends to occur very often in the past few years, and is affecting the U.S very badly.
There isn’t really any danger for a fire arm to fall into the wrong persons hand if it is bought legally. Firearm retailers are required by federal law to do background checks on anyone trying to purchase a firearm. “The National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, is all about saving lives and protecting people from harm by not letting guns fall into the wrong hands. It also ensures the timely transfer of firearms to eligible gun buyers.” (The
He states the constitution gives all citizens the right to bear arms and protect themselves and their personal belongings. Santos somewhat agreed to Vinick statement, saying while gun control is not necessary, bullet control is. Bullet control is more effective because in order to use a gun, bullets are needed. Police would be able to trace bullets. There would be a severe restrictions, and a licence would be needed.
Nevertheless, carrying a concealed gun should not be prohibited from certain places especially with everything going on in society today. The right to carry a concealed gun provides a sense of security, some type of protection if something were to happen. Anything can happen in the blank of an eye and having a concealed gun allows one to feel safe. The law bans concealed weapons carry in a lot of places that a lot of mass shootings occurred at.
Everyone should know about gun safety, from authorized handlers to children and the
