The Vice President of the Mills Park Middle School National Junior Honor Society is obligated to uphold a substantial leadership status and accentuate the five pillars of NJHS, amidst both their peers and respective communities. Furthermore, the Vice President ought to assist and collaborate effectively with the selected NJHS President. A President and a Vice President that can unite and take on a challenge together, establish an unbreakable bond that reflects remarkably on the society being led. This strong relationship applies not only to the President, but to the other officers and members of the National Junior Honor Society as well. It is the role of an NJHS officer to represent the voices of the students and form a collective opinion. …show more content…
Foremost, I am a natural born leader, capable of addressing large crowds and regulating events. Moreover, I have extensive experience in musical theatre; performing in community productions annually and teaching classes voluntarily. Excelling in ensemble building activities, I am also able to get along well with all groups of people and find conclusions that speak for everyone. Additionally, I transcend the typical academic standards for my age and grade. I have an extensive vocabulary and am able to pick up new subjects and topics at accelerated paces. These skills are useful in situations where I, as Vice President, would need to temporarily take on the position of an absent officer. With strong mental reflexes, I will step into the position of said officer and complete it to the best of my ability; working to overcome possible obstacles, instead of abandoning the responsibility. Along with the previously listed qualities, I have also completed two semesters of Computer Skills and Applications at Mills Park Middle School. In these classes, I learned and achieved excellence in various programs found on Microsoft and Google Docs (Including, but not limited to, Excel and Sheets). Participating in multiple different extracurricular activities at Mills Park Middle School, I am particularly well-rounded and am therefore able to reach out to different branches of people. A few of the clubs I am/have been in are: Science Olympiad, Math Counts, Spotlight Theatre, Run Club, etc. Overall, as the Vice President, I would appropriately address the society and fully commit myself to the role, both academically and
IRC RA APPLICATION: 10. Write a brief personal statement that describes any relevant personal characteristics, strengths, skills, or experiences that would make you a good candidate for the RA position. (300 words max) “For unity in the Saint Thomas More Community, elect Alaina Robinson as Junior Class President”, I asserted, apprehensive of my fate as a future class representative. My role in the Student Government Association as Junior Class President (JCP) has been one of the most meaningful pledges during my scholastic years. I was afforded the opportunity to demonstrate my innate strengths as a critical thinker, exemplify the integrity necessary to effectively collaborate with others, and illuminate my untapped leadership abilities.
Secondly, since my grade nine year in high school I have been greatly involved in many clubs/groups. Such as the peace club, peer mentor, peer ambassadors, SHSM, and Arts Huron Dance. With regards to my efforts of demonstrating various forms of leadership due to the countless opportunities provided to me, the width of knowledge obtained has given the capability for applying to any situation. For example, because of my participation inside the SHSM executive club, I have gained exceptional communicational skills through leading grade nine and ten classes by running presentations on what SHSM is, how to apply, what each sector is, how it makes a student stand out later on in life, and plenty more. On the other hand, my association with the peace
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school.
I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
1. List any leadership and service activities in which you have participated. Include both school and community activities, and a brief description of your responsibilities. • UNM National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) vice president- As vice president, I worked to support the president in her regular duties, successfully organized several fundraisers for local organizations that offer speech, language, and hearing support, managed the organization’s social media sites, and met with the executive board and sponsors one a month to discuss membership involvement and upcoming events.
I believe that I should be considered for the Forest Lake Area Senior High Student Council because I think my leadership skills could be put to use in this group. Student Council will be a top priority in my life, and I will make a complete commitment to the group. Also, I want to have a say in the school's decisions and help represent the student body and the voices of the students at Forest Lake Area Senior High. The voices of the Forest Lake community should be heard and I believe this is a great way to voice the student body and their thoughts. Student Council sounds like a great opportunity!
I have had students from various countries and cultural backgrounds bond over their shared love of music and performance in my musical theater classroom. In my earliest teaching days, I’ve observed students use our classroom music/composition projects to tap into creativity that they weren’t aware that they held. I’ve had teenage students with personal struggles express how the music classroom offers them a place to “escape” and immerse themselves in their craft. After making such a positive impact in the local music education realm I am eager to participate in fostering arts opportunities in the local community at large. While I have participated in local arts organizations on a volunteer level, I am looking to assist in filling some of the gaps in needing trained and qualified performing arts
Because of DECA, I am much more comfortable communicating with business professionals and expressing knowledge in business topics. I actively participate in National Honor Society, as well, and I currently serve as the vice president. National Honor Society recognizes students of high academic standing and places an emphasis on community involvement. As vice president of National Honor Society, I have led efforts such as our annual canned food drive and peer tutoring activities. I was inducted into National Honor Society as a sophomore and have been actively involved ever
Another aspect of dances that I would like to achieve is having food at these dances. As I mentioned in my application to the General Assembly, food is rarely served at dances. As social chair assistant, I would like to have food at Homecoming and winter ball, in addition to prom. Food does not necessarily have to be a sit down dinner; it might just be a small buffet of sliders and hot pretzels. A third thing I would like to achieve as social chair assistant is having large pep rallies at the beginning of each sports season.
Mr. Lipp could I come in? I walked into the principal’s office considering if I had what it takes to convince him. The reason I joined National Honor Society was to give back to my community. Unfortunately, upon getting into the society and going to a few meetings I realized that our relatively new nature as a charter limited our resources.
At University I cannot wait to immerse myself in compelling classes with eager professors. My leadership has grown through my vast array of activities. Those I am proudest of include DECA president, Key Club Lieutenant Governor on the Wisconsin and Upper-Michigan state board, and stage management at the international high school level. My community service has only blossomed from my clubs; as I try and spend my time as productively as possible, I engage in both large events for organizations such as the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life as well as smaller community-oriented affairs. Concerning my creativity and talent, the things I am the greatest at seem to be things that require the most innovative mind.
Looking back over the past four years, I recognize a distinct shift in my personal goals. In middle school I thought I was a good student because I was quiet and studious— I got good grades, didn’t get into trouble, and kept to myself. Over the past for years, I’ve learned that my personal value is not dependent on what I do for myself, but what I do for others. Freshmen year, I accidently stumbled my way into my first leadership position, freshmen class vice president. What followed was an intense sense of gratification for doing something for the benefit of others.
