Some similarities of the book and the movie can be in the scenes or the setting. I think there are similarities in the scene because of the way they talk. For example Mr. Tuck said the exact words when he was talking to Winnie at the lake. He talked about the wheel of life and if you drink from the spring you won’t be in that wheel anymore. He also gave Winnie advise from a person who already drank from the spring. He said if you drink from the spring you wouldn’t like it because you wouldn’t grow anymore and life will be super boring. Winnie was also told that if there was a way he can change back to normal he would do it. Another example is when the Tucks meet the man in the yellow suit. This is a similarity from the book and the movie because …show more content…
In the movie, a scene was added to the book, the scene when Mrs. Foster and Winnie go to the bread shop. Another difference in the scene is that the book doesn’t include the scene at the bar were Miles is playing cards with another person. As well as the scene of the campfire and the dancing with Jesse and Winnie. Differences can also be in actions and what the actors say just like when Jesse and Winnie jump into the lake in the movie, and in the book Miles and Jesse jump into the lake, Jesse also tell Winnie the secret and Miles tells the story in detail instead of Mae, they didn’t discuss who takes Winnie to the lake, but in the book they do, the constable doesn’t go with the man in the yellow suit but Mr. Foster and his people do and on the other hand the constable went. Another Jesse never gives the bottle to Winnie but in the book he does, also the man in the yellow suit shoots Jesse with a gun and Jesse shows him he has everlasting life. In the movie Mae AND Tuck go to jail and in the book only Mae goes to jail, the plan of helping Mae AND Tuck get free from jail is different from the movie, finally Winnie doesn’t give the spring water to toad and in book she does. A difference can also be in the setting. For example the outside of the Foster’s home is super neat in the movie but super dirty in the
The book explains more about slavery. The movie makes slavery appear very easygoing and mild. When the book makes it appear very real and how slavery actually was. In the book it talks about pit schools and the movie doesn't even discuss them.
In my opinion there are a lot of comparisons between the film and the book, but there are also differences between them too, but also they have impacted the audience in both the film and the
For instance, a major difference between the book and the movie is that in the movie, True Son doesn’t have a white brother. Gordon Butler is in the book, but he’s not in the movie. This is a really big difference because Gordon was a big part of True Son’s decision to save the whites. Luckily, the movie creators replaced him with someone else. The new character is Shenandoah, a housemaid that True Son falls in love with.
While they may have the same plot they have many smaller details that are different. In the book Hannah opens the door for Elijah to a field instead of a hall with multiple doors. In the movie Hannah just has cousins but no siblings, in the book Hannah only has a brother Aaron. Once Hannah has been transported to 1941 she meets Rivka who in the book is a friend but in the movie is her cousin. Soon after Hannah gets there she has to get ready for Schumel’s wedding, but once they get to the ceremony in the book they are taken away quickly where in the movie they get married and then are taken away.
Another difference is that in the movie they go into town, but in the book it 's never mentioned. Something else that was different was that in the book the mood was happy most of the time, while in the movie the mood was sad. A difference between the book and the movie is that in the book momma was going to burn Byron, but in the movie she does not burn him. A big difference is that in the
The first way the movie differs from the book is the portrayals of Jonas. Jonas in the book gets his job and goes out when he is only 12. But in the movie, he doesn 't get his job until he is 18. Also, the way he is marked is different in the book he has pale eyes and in the movie he has a birthmark on the wrist. Lastly, he is a lot more rebellious in the movie he steals a
One difference that i 've noticed is that in the book michael needed extra credit to bring his GPA up and leigh anne got him extra classes to extend for the rest of the year “ he got an extra language class online” “ michael took before school bible studies that started at 6am” (Lewis pg.147) in the movie michael didn 't take any extra classes all he did was work hard with his tutor to get better grades in his regular classes. Another major scene that was very different in the movie was how the tuohy family met michael. In the movie michael was walking outside in the cold walking to the school gym when the tuohy family drove by and leigh anne asked him where he was going and when he answered they turned their car around she got out and insisted he stay with them the night. But In the book it was totally different sean tuohy found michael “When sean Tuohy first spotted michael oher sitting in the stands in the briarcrest gym, staring at
In the Novel , when Winnie see’s Jesse Tuck drink from the spring Miles and Mae Tuck all come to get Winnie, however in the movie only Miles and Jesse take Winnie. In the Movie Mae and Angus both go to jail for killing the Man in the Yellow Suit. But in the Novel it is only Mae Tuck. In addition, there are many differences in the novel and movie.
In the movie though George is seen crying before he shoots Lennie. This doesn't occur in the book. It makes George seem more innocent and sympathetic. Although the plot and theme are similar the characters are portrayed differently in
To continue with the character differences, another main one is that in the book Hannah has a brother,Aaron, and Aunt Eva has a brother, Grandpa Will or Wolfe, who was with her in the camp. A somewhat minor difference is that Hannah is referred to as Hannah in both the dream and reality in the movie. In the book however, Hannah is referred to as Chaya in the dream and Hannah in reality. Not to mention that there was also more missing characters between the book and the movie. An example would be that there is no Gitl or Yitzchak in Hannah’s dream in the movie while there was in the book.
Compare and contrast Tuck Everlasting Paper The novel and movie Tuck Everlasting is very intense, interesting, and odd. The book is written by Natalie Babbitt and filmed by Disney. For example it is intense when the folks from Tree Gap find the Tucks in Tuck Everlasting. In addition the novel and movie are very different.
One difference is in the book Percy and Annabeth was 12 years old and in the movie Percy and Annabeth was17 years old. Annabeth has blue eyes and brown hair in the movie, but she has blonde hair and grey eyes in the book. And Luke mentions to meet his dad once in the book but in the film, he never met his dad. In the book, Grover has a limp but in the film, he has crutches. Another different is Mr. D does not appear in the film but is in charge of camp half-blood as a punishment.
Another difference would be the way the short stories were ordered. In the book, the stories were told in no perceptible order, making it hard to remember who is whose daughter/mother etc. The movie begins with a party which all the characters attend, and the stories are disclosed as the character is thinking about it. The mother and daughter’s stories are staged after one another. The movie allows for a more natural way of telling the story, and makes it easier to remember the characters and associate mothers with daughters.
Casandra Salazar Ms. Tobias English III GT 12 January 2017 The Great Gatsby After reading and watching The Great Gatsby, I gathered the dissemblance and alikeness in both the book and motion picture. As written in “The Great Gatsby”, the first example of similarity is that the book has the same theme to the “Roaring 20’s”. In the written book, Fitzgerald described the parties as huge and dramatic, where as in the movie, the directors did a fantastic job translating Fitzgerald’s words into a lavish visual spectacle of booze, sequins, and confetti.
There are a lot of things in the book that are different from the movie, for instance, in the movie , "Peter Pan" wears a green suit, leather boots, and a green hat. In the original story, he wears auburn leaves, a leather jacket and boots. Other differences are how Peter and the Pirates tried to kill each other, in the book, Captain Hook poisoned Pan 's medicine, in the movie, they tried to blow him up. Other things are how the Pirates knew where the Lost Boys lived, in the book, they accidentaly discover it, in the movie, Tinker Bell is captured and reveals the hideout. Besides those things, there are a lot of accurate things such as the Native Americans in the book, they wear the feather hats and the leather tunics, they smoke, hunt and have Tribe Leaders and Princesses.
