Conclusion In conclusion, advanced practice roles have been discussed along with the similarities and differences among each role. What is a goal that you currently have? What steps can you take to reach this goal? My goal I currently have is to get my RN license. Steps I can I take and am currently taking for this is going through my high school to get my CMAA, CNA, and then go to college and got to school for my RN.

My Intent to Be a Nurse Practitioner Coming from a third world country where there aren’t many opportunities for work and funding for education, proceding to nursing school was a grand opportunity. The privilege to attend a government subsidized school where top students in the region compete to get into the program that allowed only 60 students per year was indeed a blessing. As clinical rotations began, what was once considered a mere opportunity evolved into a true passion for caring as I truly love and enjoy nursing and helping people.

I am a firm believer that in order to be happy and successful, you need to have a job that you love to do. This ideology is what motivated me to want to become a nurse practitioner and help the people in my community. Attending California State University, Los Angeles is allowing me to pursue my academic goal of getting into the nursing program. I aspire to get my bachelors of science in nursing to be able to become a registered nurse. After gaining experience as a registered nurse, I will pursue a master of science in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.

Modern medicine has made has made even the simplest roles very important, this allows everyone to feel a sense of belonging. The topic I selected for my career-related capstone project is licensed practical nurse, a licensed practical nurse is very important to the staff and patients they take care of the patient on a more personal level than the doctor. They do perform some of the simplest tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medicine, taking care of wounds on a patient, and giving immunizations are just a few but without this task, patients wouldn 't get the best care available to them. My long term goals are to acquire my Doctorate of Nursing Practice after completing the Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner concentration program. I would use my advance practice license in a clinical setting and later give back and share my knowledge and expertise in an educator role. I am a senior in high school, and I have decided to continue my education by studying Nursing. My goals for the near future are to graduate high school at the top of my class, become a certified CNA, and start furthering my education, while still staying in my residential state. My goals for the not-so-near future are to become a certified RN, and continue on to become an LPN. Another goal is to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. I have intentions to work at a teaching hospital as part of a post-graduate program.

Nursing has always been a passion of mine, especially labor and delivery nursing. While others in my class would cringe away from the birth video in my freshman health class, I watched in fascination, tearing up at how natural and joyous childbirth was. When I told my parents, they were hesitant when it came to their support. My mother thought it was a messy job that required too much liability insurance. Unfortunately for her I was headstrong and refused to listen.

That is my hardest goal out of every goal I have which is intimidating but I plan on using my arranger and consistency strengths to help me through it. Getting my RN will take me three years from now. I have two more semesters left of prerequisites left to finish before I can get accepted into nursing school then I will apply to Valdosta State University and complete my schooling in the top of my class. It will take a lot of hard work and studying and determination but I have to push through it in order to be content the way I want in my life.
