It takes courage to stand alone and dig deeper than what everyone else believes. In the book Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose, a boy was accused of murder. Twelve jurors were chosen to decide his fate. If all jurors were to vote guilty, he would receive the death sentence. Of those twelve jurors, eleven immediately voted guilty and only one voted not guilty. The 8th juror stood up for the boy and believed he should at least deserve a chance. Through many hours of arguments and disputes, all jurors came to a decision. The defendant is not guilty. In the beginning of the book, eleven out of the twelve jurors voted guilty. The “facts” that were given from the witnesses immediately persuaded the eleven jurors that the defendant was guilty. The
