I’ve got some feedback on Barron’s draft: 36-521.02.B – This subsection says we can hold the patient while the screening agency (SA) reviews the application, which is good. However, we want to hold the patient while we make the application to the SA, too. We’d be fine with a timeframe for the hospital to make the application. 36-521.02.D – We have two comments here. 1) As drafted, the subsection says that if a Certificate of Hold is issued by the SA then a hospital can hold a patient for 9 hours, once medically cleared, while waiting for transport to the SA.

In Robertson v. Norton Co., plaintiff brought breach-of-warranty and strict liability claims against the manufacturer and the distributer of a ceramic-composite grinding wheel on a heavy-duty power sander/grinder. 148 F.3d at 905–06. At trial, plaintiff’s ceramics expert testified that the manufacturer’s warnings were “‘completely inadequate’ because the warning label did not explain ‘improper use,’ a copy of the safety guide was not enclosed with each grinding wheel, and the warning label’s cross references were ineffective.” Id. at 907. The Eighth Circuit held that the trial court abused its discretion by allowing the ceramics expert to testify on warnings because he was not qualified to do so.
In “Making it in America,” Adam Davidson explains what is occurring in factories in America today. Currently, American factories are producing more goods per factory than in the past, while factory jobs are disappearing. He also humanizes what is happening in today’s factories by providing a specific example of a company, Standard Motors with a factory in Greenville, South Carolina and interviewing workers and the Chief Executive Officer there. Davidson provides the reader with the context of their personal lives and the opportunities they have. One worker with whom he speaks is hurt by these trends, one that is helped by them.
Reference to the question of the rate increase of Labor, in view of the obligation of Northrop Grumman to ensure that services rendered on behalf of the U.S. Government are priced reasonably, it is not possible to increase the Director of Events & Program Manager beyond 39% & 38%. These offered increases are significantly more than what is normally permissible, 10-12% range, for essentially continued work. However, due to its unique nature, the new location of Lebanon, the reasoning provided by Mr. Proctor, and in pursuit of goodwill & partnership, the latter two rate escalations can be justified to the U.S. Government.

Contract Closeout Procedures The Surface Force Logistics Center, Medium Endurance Cutter Product Line (SFLC-MECPL: all future references will be sighted as SFLC-MEC) is the glue that is holding our cutters together; however, we are failing to meet adequate closeout times with current and prior year contracts. SFLC-MEC Purchasing Agents need more efficient closeout procedures for contracts. The biggest areas of weakness are: failure to closeout contracts, no standard in closeout procedures, and lack of awareness within upper management. This trend has cost the Coast Guard hundreds of thousands of dollars and cannot continue on future contracts.
