The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was founded February 12,1909. The NAACP is known to be one of the most strongest and oldest civil rights organization in the United States. The party was formed due to the continued lynching of black people. Of all the sacrifices that the NAACP has fought for I feel that we still have taken steps backwards. I feel that the killing of our black men. I feel that the brutality of our policemen has been taken out of control. I feel that if things do not change soon that things are going to be some sort of retaliation as war on law enforcement. Innocent people 's live are on the line for meaningless crimes. Nonetheless, we as a people should stand together. in the past, our generations stood together to protect our heritage. they stood in a peaceful way. now our own youth kill each other. if we cannot display love and peace towards one another, how can we demonstrate to others how to treat us. we take no pride in ourselves but get angry when others disrespect us. I feel that our forefathers stood for so many of our civil rights such as; wanting an education and our children are either dropping out of school or not wanting to go to school or on drugs. we have people who have marched and died for the right to vote and yet our people now will not even take the time to go out and exercise this right. you have people who went to jail for the right to not have to sit at the back of the bus, but now when our people get on the bus they go straight to the back. I cannot understand why we want to go
