During the early period of Renaissance Era the Medici Family’s wealth/contributions and support establish them as one of the most influential patrons of the arts/literature and intellectual learning.

Catherine de Medici was significant to history because she ruled France as a powerful regent for nearly thirty years, she was partly responsible for the horrors of the French wars of Religion, and she was a very profitable patron.

The Renaissance is commonly known as a period of rebirth. New ways of thinking and acting were rapidly evolving. It was a time of great challenges and discoveries for the individual. People could share ideas, objects, and skills in so many ways that changed the whole outlook of humanity. For a while, the church told the people what they wanted them to believe.

They made immense contributions to the arts in the Renaissance by generously supporting artists to get their careers a kickstart, some of these artists include, Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and also famous writers such as Niccolo Machiavelli known for his book “The Prince” that had a different outlook on authority but also they payed for the building of many different cathedrals and churches, and of course helped a lot with education by building schools
