I consecutively display leadership skills daily in practice and while performing. For example, when one of my teammates is struggling or not grasping the concept, I take it into my hands to work with them vigorously until they achieve their full potential. In like manner, I motivate my cheer sisters when they are down and reassure the team, as a whole, to walk in the spirit of excellence. To include, I feel that a leader is not someone who stands in front and dictates their group, but rather stands right next to their followers and goes through the battles with them. Additionally, I exemplify a respectful young lady in and out of uniform because I have noticed the little girls idolizing me and mimicking every move I make. Significantly, leadership is a trait that can enhance as you grow older and National Honor Society will build me up into a superior

Dear the National Honor Society selection committee, Thank you for the great honor of being invited to apply for membership to such a well-respected and incredible organization. I am very excited about this opportunity as it presents an optimal way in which to further my passion of expanding my mind and bettering my community. Since I entered high school, I have pursued this by taking all honors classes and any Advanced Placement classes offered to me each year. Although sometimes I was not always entirely sure what to expect walking into each class, and of course there have been classes I like more than others, there is no class I regret taking because each and every one has opened my mind up to a new way of thinking.
I greatly appreciate my nomination to be considered for induction into the National Honors Society. Before and during high school, I have been active in serving the community in a consistent way. Other activities I do also influence and shape the way in which I approach service and leadership tasks.
Acquiring leadership skills along with a strong character and the sense to serve others is vital. A leader should be resourceful, dependable, selfless, and a good problem solver. Growing up I have always set high standards for myself academically and extracurricularly. I participate in many clubs at my school including BETA club and National Honor Society.
I have developed leadership qualities when my Tae Kwon Do coach trusted me to lead our team during national championships. This has led me to then hold various leadership positions in undergraduate and dental school clubs. Moreover, my critical thinking abilities have excelled from being a mathematics and physics tutor. Tutoring has always challenged me to think outside the box in complicated problems, and this would allow me to use my creative skills when facing complex cases in my field. Persistence is another key element that is crucial in success.
