Throughout the college writing course, there were four major projects to focus on. These include an annotated bibliography, research argument, collaborative letter and presentation, and reflective portfolio. My writing goals for the course consisted of starting early on assignments and using stronger word choices. These goals relate to being a business major because there will be projects and papers that I will need to spend a good chunk of time on. Starting early on these as well as using strong words will hopefully allow me to succeed. These goals and the projects will help me throughout my academic career and after by allowing me to succeed ahead of schedule and avoid procrastination. Some examples of my future audience may include my classmates, business professors, small groups as well as future managers. An example of an instance where I showed improvement was during the collaborative letter presentation. Generally, I am nervous when presenting in front of my peers, but before presenting I practiced my slides and made sure I knew what to say. This ensured that I was well prepared and was shown on a professional level. Based on my future topic, I will have to decide what information is going into my work, to allow my audience to be interested in what I have to say. To cater to my audience, I will need to be observant as to what may grab their attention. For example, if I had a younger audience, I may use lots of pictures and few words. If my audience was a professor and a class, I may use slides that are descriptive and to the point. Some tones that will need to be thought of while completing my work include formal, informal, and sincere. These tones can be used while presenting a topic, talking amongst coworkers, or consulting clients. After graduating college and getting a job I will oversee clients, meaning that my duty to them is to provide a respectful, professional environment so that both parties feel comfortable. Having to complete these four major writing projects, will help me to succeed when writing future coursework as well as using my learning outcomes and goals to adapt to difficult
I need to be able to spot hurdles and barriers and go through them if I want to accomplish my goals. I could practice this in this upcoming spring semester by taking initiative with my group projects and making sure I come up with solutions to problems presented to us. I can also search out opportunities to work on challenging issues or projects and by using my analytical and creative thinking abilities outlined in my personality test which definitely stand true. Finally, I am aware that in order to succeed, I need to improve my time management skills. Effective time management will enable me to concentrate on the most crucial activities and move closer to my goals.

The goal that I will be using for my literacy story is to further my education. This class is the first step in many that will help me to get to where I want to be. Writing is a major skill in life to assist me in all aspects of my life and my goal. My writing that shows progress in achieving my goal is the homework I have been completing each week. I have had problems with writing for many years that stopped me from getting back to my education.
I have gained experiences and skills from my previous employment as well as personal life situations and education. I have learnt some valuable skills such as attentive listening and excellent communication .I am able to communicate effectively : verbal, non verbal, and written .I recently delivered a presentation for my project at the University. I made some notes for my power point and practised with my colleagues, at the end of the presentation,I recapped to clarify my point and asked questions.
3.Choose one aspect of your presentation and tell me how you will work to improve it for your next presentation. Be concrete. Offer suggestions that you will use for improvement. I always get anxious before giving any speech or presentation. I may not maintain eye contact with the audience to cop up with my anxiety.
Before taking writing skills two I 've had a positive mindset towards writing because I see it as a way to express my thoughts. For example, whenever I feel a bit melancholy writing a short story or just free writing always makes me feel a bit better. On the other hand, I don’t believe I’m the best writer because like every other student I make mistakes in my writing. Although, I don’t take the editing negatively I always look back at my past essay and try to reflect on them to see how I can always improve my writing skills. Overall, I have a pretty good mindset towards writing even though I have my mistakes I know if I study harder I can become a better writer over time.

The first thing I can improve on is using vocal variations in my pitch to get the audience’s attention. During the presentation I did not go from soft to loud, I kind of just stayed the same which I thought made the audience lose interest in my topic. The next thing I can improve on is that I did not move with a purpose I just walked back and forth in the classroom to help calm myself down and help get the nervous energy out. I also noticed that I used random vocal breakers such as um when there was no reason to. Because I wanted to fill in the gap where I was thinking.
Towards becoming a writer -------------------------------- I promised myself that I will learn a new skill this year. I resolve to learn how to write with purpose.
My goals have changed a lot over the last couple of years. Bouncing back and forth between majors and deciding if I even want to be taking college classes right now. I kept asking myself why I should struggle with hard classes when I have a good job right now. But then I stopped and repeated “good job right now.” My job as a twenty year old might support me right now but is it going to support me in ten or fifteen years when I’m trying to buy a house and support my family?
Personal Statement Describe several personal and professional goals you would like to achieve in the next five years, including why these goals are important to you. Goals are what keep us motivated to keep going and doing better than the day before. It is our goals that help us to keep pushing forward and be the best version of ourselves everyday. I have many professional and personal goals for myself.
As students, presentations are something that is required in most classes yet, students do not see themselves as public speakers. Throughout high school and now in college, I have had to present material in 80 percent of the classes that I have taken. Presenting was, and still is something that I struggle with no matter how big or how small the group is that I am presenting to. I knew that Public Speaking was a required class for me so, rather than putting it off, I decided to go ahead and get it out of the was as soon as possible. Speaking in front of people is out of my comfort zone.
As a result, I was also to improve my delivery as I progressed through the different speeches. During the first speech I only stared at one area of the room and didn’t make eye contact with the entire audience. Throughout the semester I got much better at making eye contact with each person in the audience several times, so it appeared that I was speaking to every person in the audience. I also cut down on the distracting movements that were often due to nerves. In future speaking situations I need to improve on my vocal variety and energy to make my speeches stronger in the future.
When I graduate high school, I plan on having future goals that I plan on achieving. My first goal is to go to college and get a degree. I plan on attending Purdue NorthWest majoring in engineering and minoring in business. This is my number one future goal that I need to accomplish because to be able to have a nice life, I need to go to college to support my future family. My next future goal would be get a starting job to be able to support my future family.
