My Reflection On My Writing Class

I do realize I have a lot to learn but anytime I write better than I did the essay before that is a success. So, to any future students if you are here every day and participate you will be successful this class is organized to make sure when you start writing the essays you are well prepared from all the invention techniques. I feel my style has broadened because every essay I write feels easier and more professional. My attitude about writing is better as well I am no longer afraid of writing an essay or communicating via email with another professor or some other professional resource.

This semester was filled with many bumpy roads. I struggled in the beginning of the semester with my writings , as I didn 't feel confident enough to write a well developed writing. I seemed to find myself struggling whereas writing was not my favorable subject. The major errors I had in my writings this semester would be , grammatical errors,work citations, transition words, formatting ,paragraph development, sentence structure , and sentence level issue. Therefore I have set goals to improve my writing in the future.

This semester has been an ongoing challenge for me but has been an enjoyable one and I have not been presented with any impossible tasks. I have never been much of a writer, and during the course of this semester, I 've struggled to meet length requirements on the assigned essays. However, I do understand that not everyone is an excellent writer or even has to enjoy writing to get a good grade in this 1A class. From the start, with the first essay, I pushed myself to do my best and looked to multiple outlets to polish my writing, such as the online tutor, the writing center, the internet and the writer 's handbook.

Casandra Castro Dr. DesRosiers Freshman Seminar Upper Article Reflection The Upper Article confused me very much at first. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the article having no words was the point of describing what happens with writer's block. I belive that this happens to almost everyone at one point in time when writing an essay. One may go to begin to write a paper and then all of a sudden, the mind tends to go blank.

Over the course of the semester, my main goal was to become a more precise writer and develop my identity as a writer. According too, the Portfolio Letter assignment sheet, becoming a better writer consists of precise planning, draft and revising. It also includes understanding a variety of academic genres by examining the basic characteristics that defines each type. In order too efficiently meet my goal of becoming a better writer, it was very important to have my work evaluated by others and myself as well. The use of rhetorical knowledge, critical thinking, reading and writing all are the important aspects in this course.

I have always struggle with my writing assignments. Sometimes I have a tendency to wait until the last minute to begin my writing; therefore, I do not have an adequate time to articulate my ideas in a consistent manner. I would like to be a better writer and below are my goals to improve my writing skills in your class this semester: -- Stop being a procrastinator and start my assignments early. --

Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.

Writing a paper has been always a difficult thing for me to do so. I never interest to writing because I find that a lot requirement to fulfill as a well writing paper. They are choice make up idea of topic, and set up a theme. When actually on writing it, I need use correct words choice, and write a sudden type of paper. Also, writing an English paper, there have different tense, such as past tense, present tense and future tense, which are verbs to state when the actions or events.

Each essay I wrote took me several time to write, several drafts which show that I have improve every time I do the drafts to write a perfect masterpiece. I learned a lot of skills and techniques this quarter, which has helped me to improve and progress my writing skills for the future. I will remember the skills, techniques, and tips that professor gave us in this English class for my higher education. For example, all the time that I went to visit professor Sapozhnikov office hours to receive help on my out-of -class essays has helped me to improve, grow, and progress in my writing skills as a writer. Some of the significant changes I have made as I was progressing and growing were to develop a strong thesis to help support my claims as I write my essays, such as facts, observations, illustration, and examples.

I had one more year to walk the halls of Dibble High School, but I also remembered that I have only one more semester to try to claim either valedictorian or salutatorian. In this first semester of I hope to maintain my grade average and move from being ranked number three in my class, to at least number two. However in this class alone, I hope to become a better writer. Numerous English teachers while in school have taught me, yet I still feel as if I have not reached my full potential as a writer. In turn, I hope to learn new skills that will benefit me in the long

Though it seems like the semester began just a few weeks ago time has flown by fast. I must now look back through these past months and identify my changes as a writer. As time went on I had developed in the approach I was taking to the writing process. At the beginning, I would not put much thought into the word choice I would use or how my paper was organized. Although, now I carefully sweep through my mind searching for the best ways to phrase my point and organizing sentences to the best of my ability.

I have learned many things this year in writing class. Some of the most useful are planing my writing and learning about sentence structure. To plan my writing we learned to think about what the topic is before you start writing. Then you write the main point of what you are writing about and then you add details to your outline. We also learned about sentence structure.

Writing project 3 has shown me the importance of writing something that is of interest for you, an issue that you are passionate about. I think that I have started to get somewhat better at the structuring of my writing and using outlines before I jump into a draft. I am no longer as scared and hesitant to write, as I was the first writing project. I think a good goal that I accomplished from this project was using diverse sources in my writing. I was able to utilize a magazine post, newspaper article and research journals to form my argument and provide support.

Major assignments -Work Projects- taught me how to write essays and include employed academic documentation (MLA). In this course, I’ve completed various reading assignments, did independent analytical thinking about what I’ve read, participate in discussions on what I’ve read, write about what I’ve read, and carry out research, this emphasis on reading was to show the importance of critical reading, and how it is going to benefit my studies. Understanding this academic essay structure, the use of rhetorical strategies in essay writing, writing a summary, formulating a thesis, and writing essays using rhetorical strategies.
