His use of sentence variety makes his paper smoother to read, and displays a more advanced writing style. Jonathan Edwards was a revivalist, preacher, philosopher, and a protestant during the 18th century. During the 18th century, he wrote a sermon called Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God which is an example of The Great Awakening. The Great Awakening was a time period where they started to use descriptive language and they really started to focus on the individual. Edwards’s sermon expresses the ideology of emotionalism, persecution, and revivalism. While I was reading his sermon I realized that his sermon really expresses the ideology of emotionalism.

Ursula Le Guin defines Omelas as a utopia where the citizens’ lives are never wretched. Le Guin captures her readers’ attention by describing the city’s beauty with the colorful scenery, events featuring games and horse riding, and the everlasting happiness. She does a great job of leading her readers into thinking this could be the perfect society, but leaves us with the question of satisfaction. According to Le Guin, “happiness is based on a just discrimination of what is necessary, what is neither necessary nor destructive, and what is destructive” (p. 2). This quote means that there must be a balance for the society to succeed.
This quote is significant because although Pi might have his religion on lock, it doesn 't mean he has all the answers. Today, we often think about the things that are obvious and directly in front of us. For example, our work or school lives and our daily pastime activities such as sports or clubs. We sometimes forget that things go on outside of what we see. For this reason, people use the aphorism, Out of Sight, Out of Mind, which can be interpreted as whatever you can't see, does not bother you, or you don't think about it.
In the past, I was not exercising until few years ago and I became very ill and overweight. My doctor and a personal trainer suggested that I start doing some type of form of exercise at least for 30 minutes 3-4 times each week. Instantly, I began to notice that I felt a lot better and had more energy to do my daily tasks and was able to believe in myself more.
