Mexican Immigration In The Early 1900

It is Time Attempting to escape poverty and violence, immigrants are obligated to leave everything behind in their country and embark for the United States illegally. Because of the relentless threats received from notorious gangs, many undocumented immigrants opt for illegal entrance as opposed to waiting in the “imaginary ‘immigration line’” for an immigration visa which “is already 4.4 million people long” (Santana, 2014). After being coerced to join a gang, my father was forced to hop on a daunting train called “La Bestia” from El Salvador to the U.S. I can attest that my father is a hardworking individual who has contributed to this nation. Avoiding any bias, I believe it is unethical and inhumane to send those who come to this nation

Chapter One- Mexicans in the United States Chapter one outlined historic dates ranging from the 17th century to the 1900s and how these dates impacted Mexicans in the United States. In 1610 the town of Santa Fe, New Mexico was founded and in the 17th century became the number one location for settlement. Cities such as Albuquerque, Nacogdoches, San Antoni, San Diego, Tucson, San José and Los Angeles became settlement centers in the 18th century. Moving forward into 1802 the Louisiana Purchase became a catalyst for expansion. One of the most important events of the 1800s occurred in 1821 when Mexico became independent from Spain.

Hundreds or thousands immigrates legal or illegal come to the United States for jobs. Some immigrates come because they need money for their family and other's come because they want to danger us. Immigrates should be allow to come to the United States because they're better jobs there ,and also they need money for their family. For example, many immigrates struggle to pay for their family needs and it's really hard because I had a friend that her parents had to move to the United States for better jobs. Her parents couldn't pay the bills in Mexico so the only way to get money and better jobs are in the United States.

Many people believed that Mexico invaded the United States and caused the U.S Mexico war; however, it was actually United States who raided Mexico first. The author, Rodolfo Acuna, purpose of writing “Occupied America: A History of Chicanos” was too informed of how the United States came to invade Mexico which led to the U.S Mexico War. Such as how the U.S President Polk, who played a huge role in the U.S Mexico war. Other events include the Anglo Settlements in Texas who brought their slaves, Texas War of Independence, and the terms of Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. All these events are what led up the U.S Mexico War.

Now if they are disobeying the laws of the United States, then I think they don’t have a right to be here. Then again some of them may be in jail because they got pulled over or they are not suppose

The Mexican-American war altered the United States environmentally, culturally and politically. First, on February 2, 1848, Mexico signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo two years post the beginning of the war. The treaty not only achieved President Polk’s goal to achieve California from Mexico but also granted the U.S. over 500,000 square miles of new territory. The new land caused approximately 90,000 spanish speaking, mostly Catholic Mexicans under American jurisdiction. Second, Nativism, a rising anti-catholic and anti-immigrant deemed the Mexicans inferior.

Most immigrants who came to the U.S had high expectations that they would find wealth but once they arrived they realized their expectations weren’t what they expected. Although, they were disappointed in not finding wealth the conditions in which the U.S was in by the late 1800s were still a lot better than the places they all had left behind to come. The majority of the immigration population anticipation was to find profitable jobs and opportunities. When the large numbers of immigration were migrating to the U.S, it was during the “Gilded Age”, which was the prime time for the country’s expansion of industrialization. Over a period of time illegal immigration has become a very large topic in not just the United States but also all around the world. An illegal immigrant is known as a person or persons who is leaving their countries due to a dangerous atmosphere, lack of work, poverty, etc. Many immigrants take a huge risk in moving into a foreign country in search of a better life, others leave because of political reasons, and some leave because of better job opportunities in other countries. Many immigrants are coming into foreign countries and taking jobs from citizens that could be filling those jobs, and is hurting the countries economies. The increasing number of illegal immigrants in many countries has negatively affected many countries economies,

Illegal immigrants evidently have had the ability to leach off of the American government, due to Obamacare. Illegal immigration is without a doubt one of the most attention needing problems the United States faces. The adversity devised from the jobs that illegal immigrants have apprehended from US citizens is formidable. President Trump has promised that he will reform the immigration laws and following his presidential campaign promise, building a large wall that separates Mexico and The United States. Building the wall reassures the population that we are indeed safe, we are a powerful country and there is no free ride in the land of hope and possibility.

These children coming from a completely different country don 't really know many of the laws in the U.S. In fact, some of these kids were in gangs and would steal in their old countries. How would we know if they are not kids running away from home? I know there are theses bad things but what if they are coming to the U.S to get a better life? I mean I know some of these kids are having a tough life, but how is coming to the U.S gonna help you can 't get a job at 9 and what if you get into some trouble and get sent

Although there have been many events in history that relate to the topic of manifest destiny, the annexation of Texas into America was most significant. One event that relates to the topic of Texas is the Mexican cession. One can argue that the Mexican cession was one event that held more importance than the annexation of Texas due to the amounts of open land in the West. Although the Mexican cession was influenced by manifest destiny, it did not hold as much importance compared to the annexation of Texas. The Mexican cession occurred in 1848 due to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo that was signed after the Mexican-American war.

There are a lot of controversial issues surrounding this country. Whitin all those controversial issues there 's the “issue” of illegal immigration. I 'm sure we 're all familiar with the term “illegal immigration”. We’re always told about how bad it is. Don 't get me wrong, it is bad but it 's not done with the intention of hurting someone else but to try and change their future.

According to the U.S. Border control approximately 257,000 non-Mexicans were in 2014, compared to about 229,000 Mexicans. These non-Mexicans are comprised of people from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala where crimes are substantially high. So the problem isn’t that people are bringing “crime ‘ into America but they’re running away from these countries.

They haven't seen the hard working immigrants that are just trying to provide for their families. I'm not saying let all immigrants in because it should be restricted and watched. I say let the hardworking, law abiding immigrants

The United States of America, being a country founded by immigrants, is known all over the world as the land of great opportunities. People from all walks of life travelled across the globe, taking a chance to find a better life for them and their family. Over the years, the population of immigrants has grown immensely, resulting in the currently controversial issue of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are the people who have overstayed the time granted on their US, visa or those who have broken the federal law by crossing the border illegally. Matt O’Brien stated in his article “The government thinks that 10.8 million illegal immigrants lived in the country in January 2009, down from a peak of nearly 12 million in 2007.”(Para, 2) While some argue that illegal immigrants burden the United States of America and its economy, others believe that they have become essential and are an important part of the US, economy.
