All choices made for females were made by the parents within the household. A parent’s job was to make sure their daughter was well taken care of by someone who can support them financially; along with their future family. Verona’s traditional views on marriage and raising children to affect Juliet negatively as it limits her future.
Marriage is defined as; a legal union between man and wife, however, there are two ideas of the basis of marriage; First, being a union based on love, and second, a union arranged by the family. In Verona, marriage was a tradition all young ladies must give into. It was a commitment between two people in a union between two families. The importance of marriage was to carry on the family name and tradition.

An arranged marriage was based on monetary worth and finding a husband who can support you financially. Paris is a handsome, wealthy, young man, who is related to Prince Escales. He continually asked for Juliet’s hand in marriage because he was devoted to having her as a wife. Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet accepted him to be the husband of Juliet because they know he would be able to support her financially. Juliet does not want to marry Paris because she is secretly already married to Romeo; who she met at the Capulet ball. Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet are unaware of the marriage because if they were to find out about the secret union between a Montague and Capulet, Juliet would be disowned by both parents and she would have disgraced the family name, due to an ancient feud between both families. To begin with, the grudge between the two families, Montague and Capulet, resulted in the children making their love discrete. It was clear that because of the feud, both families would not approve of the act. Juliet's father claims he will disown her if she doesn't marry the designated person who he deemed right to become her husband. He gave off the impression that he will disapprove of anyone else. The family riot has caused Romeo and Juliet's love to continue in secrecy which lead to foolish deeds and unfortunate death.
“Talk not to me, for I 'll not speak a word, Do as tho wilt, for I have dine with thee.” This is a very uncannying way to act for a responsible parent, but a perfect description of a mother not being and giving her support to her daughter and being an irresponsible parent. Juliet 's father is not any better and threatens his own daughter for not appreciating what he had done for her even without hearing her reason for not being “proud” but “thankful” (Doc C, scene5). In act 3 scene 5 Lord Capulet tells Juliet that she has to marry Paris or else she will be disowned and he is not very nice about it either; while he is telling Juliet what will happen if she doesn’t Marry Paris he says, “hang, beg, starve, die in the streets, For, by my soul, I'll ne'er acknowledge thee”. This hurts Juliet very much. Lord Capulet was forcing Juliet to marry Paris so soon she didn’t even have time to think of anything else she could do. This is putting Juliet in a stressful situation because she is already married to Romeo, but now her father will disown her if she doesn't marry Paris.

Shakespeare demonstrates Juliet’s innocence through dialogue, metaphor and imagery. Juliet’s innocence is proven through the use of dialogue that showcasing her immaturity and obedience.
Why did Romeo and Juliet’s marriage went so wrong at the end? Maybe it's that they were not meant for each other. Maybe it's that they're family hated each other. Maybe it's because they both committed suicide. Whatever reason it was we can both agree they both weren't thinking when they were by each other and never thought about what would happen if they marry or the fact that they are total strangers.

However, the marriage would have made her unhappy, and she knew this. Instead of consoling his daughter, Lord and Lady Capulet yell at Juliet and threaten to disown her if she doesn't obey. While knowing this, though, Laurence still weds them and agrees to their marriage. This affirms the idea that he is continuing lies around the town, not allowing the Capulet or Montague families to know that their children are married. This is shown with (IV.iii) when Capulet is happy that Juliet has agreed to marry Paris. The reader knows at this time that Juliet is married to Romeo, but Lord Capulet does not, showing that nobody has told him that Juliet is already married. The most defiant choice that Romeo and Juliet take for their love is their choice to be married. Juliet knows that her father or anyone in her family would not approve of this choice, but she still does it cause she loves Romeo. This love struck mentality drives Romeo and Juliet to be married and this secret marriage causes turmoil when Lord Capulet demands Juliet to marry Paris. Some are willing to give their son or daughter away at a really young age. Others are more sceptical about it. These parents want to keep care of their child for as long as they can.
When they decided to get married her parents can’t know about it. Since her parents don 't know about the marriage, they arranged her to marry Paris. Paris seems to be a fantastic guy, but since Juliet is already married she cannot marry him. Juliet is very upset when she heard the news about the arranged marriage you could tell when she said, “O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris.” Juliet absolutely didn 't want to marry Paris.
In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet, Juliet’s father, decides that no matter what Juliet says she has to marry Paris even though she’s already married to the love of her life, Romeo. Getting married for a young person is the biggest life-changing event of their life and an important decision. The type of marriage a person has is mainly based on culture. Arranged marriages have evolved over time and are still in use today for certain people. Arranged marriage from the parents of a child is a bad idea because it may turn into a money pit for both spouses, it may restart old family feuds from the past, and it is unfair for a child not to be able to pick their own spouse to marry.
In Romeo and Juliet act 2 they about to secretly marry(after less than a week of knowing each other, that annoys me to absolutely no end) its for shadowed that things are gonna go south. The fact that they'ed try to marry after less than a week of knowing each other is already a horrible idea. Not counting they didn't try to build up support in their clans for they're marriage, the marriage itself is a bad idea. I can tell you how bad of a story Romeo and Juliet would be if it was made during modern times. It wouldn't even be a month before it was trashed.
