Lamarca is a company that uses the need for affiliation and prominence to market their sparkling wine.

The lack of ethics fuels a sense of superiority in product users through brutal subjugation of those who don’t use them. Lewis is trying to make the audience feel like they have a mission, one that will take them as a community to accomplish. Lewis purposely first leads them with sadness, telling the audience stories of friends and family who face the hardships of the government, but, starts telling them that they are not alone, telling them that they need to work, and finally, telling them that they will succeed. By doing this, he starts with the truth, but ends by motivating the audience of how it isn’t the end.

The autobiography, The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, written in 1845 in Massachusetts, narrates the evils of slavery through the point of view of Frederick Douglass. Frederick Douglass is a slave who focuses his attention into escaping the horrors of slavery. He articulates his mournful story to anyone and everyone, in hopes of disclosing the crimes that come with slavery. In doing so, Douglass uses many rhetorical strategies to make effective arguments against slavery. Frederick Douglass makes a point to demonstrate the deterioration slavery yields from moral, benevolent people into ruthless, cold-hearted people.

On April 4, 1968, Robert F. Kennedy gave his remarks on the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Robert’s goal was to inform people on Martin Luther King’s journey and to strengthen people’s attitudes on the whole situation. Robert’s main points throughout the speech were how the country as a whole should move forward, why the states should not resort to violence but unity instead, and he also addressed that the country needed unity, love, and compassion.

In this passage, Ezekiel Cheever responds to John Proctor’s curiosity about what a needle in a poppet signifies and why his wife Elizabeth is being accused of using witchcraft against Abigail Williams. Cheever’s response explains his knowledge of how Abigail was afflicted, his possession of strong evidence against Elizabeth Proctor as a court official, and both his and the town of Salem’s tendency to turn to superstition to explain mysterious events. As Cheever explains how Abigail was afflicted by the needles from the poppet, he utilizes a simile when he states that Abigail fell to the floor, after being stabbed, “like a struck beast” (74). Cheever says this to emphasize the abruptness and intensity of the situation and how significant it is that there is no visual perception of anyone

Slavery is equally a mental and a physical prison. Frederick Douglass realized this follow-ing his time as both a slave and a fugitive slave. Martin Luther's theological approach resonated with me more so than that of John Calvin's theory. Luther's approach, with its strong belief in faith of God and righteousness of God seems for me to be a more realistic approach. As practiced, if one is righteous they will live by faith. The fact that Luther was outraged by the sale of indulgence also resonates quite strongly.
