One person who deserves to be a hero in my mind is Kim Roemig who went to a two year college at Kirkwood Community college to become a Cardiology Nurse. Yet, when she started she had no idea that she would end up doing that profession. It didn’t her until she was in her last year that she wanted to be a nurse. Finally, she graduated college and got her first job as a Cardiology Nurse Assistant at Mercy Care in Cedar Rapids. She has been a nurse for 17 years now, and is one of the best around. This is why she is a hero.
The heart in a man beats 70 times a minute on average. But, one man from Cedar Rapids wasn’t so lucky. He came up just short. It was just a normal afternoon in the life of Kim Roemig, a Cardiology Nurse in Cedar Rapids, when one of her final patients of the day came in. Just as they were waiting to get his medicine, something didn’t feel right. Kim got this instinct that there was something wrong. This man had a heart attack just as the door closed to the Emergency Room, where she pushed him because she knew that something felt different. If it hadn’t have been for Kim, this man would not be with us right now. Itś crystal clear that she deserves to be a hero.

Just an average day consists of taking people’s blood pressure, listening to their lungs, starting iv’s and getting to run stress tests on people. There’s a whole lot more to go with that list too. Now being a nurse can be very dangerous, but isn’t that what hero’s do? Heroism involves quality of life, society, and your wellness of your body risk. All of those categories apply to Kim. She faces many obstacles at work like, getting diseases from being in the room with them, getting blood diseases from drawing blood, and the major one, giving someone the wrong medicine. These all are contributing factors that make someone a
Take Kevin, who had a disease, from the book Freak the Mighty, he opened up the world to a boy named Maxwell Kane, he was his brains. These people, both fictional and true, are life changing heroes. People are called heroes because they are selfless in doing actions that need to be done. Heroes do
Kerri demonstrated determination by fighting off excruciating pain to achieve a goal, while, Tracy showed determination by working hard everyday in the most depressing and physically challenging jobs. Kerri showed selflessness by sacrificing her health for the good of her team, while Tracy showed selflessness by putting her patient's health before her own and risking everything to save others. Kerri Strug, world known, has accomplished a lot during her career and has become a role model for many young individuals. However, she is still very similar to my everyday hero Tracy. Tracy did not achieve worldwide fame or role model status, but she still showed determination and selflessness, fitting my definition of a hero.
Heroism Who is your hero? It may be your dad or, perhaps another family member, one that you have known your whole life as a hero. Maybe it is a fictional character. A person that you don't know or have never seen, but still you think of them as a hero.
Rikki Tikki showed his bravery by being confident, daring, and fearless. By being confident Rikki Tikki was able to stand up against Nag and Nagaina who were plotting against him, and were trying to kill his friends. He was able to protect by fighting the snakes and having all of the ideas of fighting in his mind before he was going to attack. He was quick on his feet when others tried to hurt him which helped him see what kind of tricks they were trying on him. Rikki Tikki was also daring.
(Document C) This is heroic because it would take bravery to do this, One of those men just might have been able to do it. That and what is they decided that she is coning them? She is doing really good for a women in a patriarchal society of ancient
Throughout the story there were many examples of how she can outsmart people who might think they were above her. She proves that not all heros have to be the stereotypical strong, young man, but can be an old woman with a smart
There are many types of heroes. There are those who became heroes because of one event in which they demonstrated great amount of courage and saved the lives of others. Others are heroes because they overcame some adversity that they overcame such as losing a leg or being crippled due to an illness, or even, a battle won against cancer. Another type of hero is a person who had an easy life but chose to,give that up to help others. That was the type of hero that Julia Tutwiler was.
Anyone can be a hero. For instance, Robert Bentz was being selfless when he put himself between a driver of a stolen car and Bentz’ son. “In the split second of seeing the car coming straight at [his son] Roudy, Bentz cranked his steering wheel as hard as possible. That put him between the oncoming car and his son.” Though Bentz is a normal person, he was still able to save his son from injury.
Oprah Winfrey is my hero because she overcame great obstacles in her life. “After a troubled adolescence in a small farming community, where she was sexually abused by a number of male relatives and friends of her mother, Vernita, she moved to Nashville to live with her father, Vernon, a barber and businessman” (“Oprah Winfrey”). Oprah came from extreme poverty
My Michigan Hero “A hero is someone who gives his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” Joseph Campbell wrote this about a hero. My hero is my mom Rena Zizelman,She is a little over five foot tall, she has shoulder lenght hair which is brown, and has blue eyes. My mom inspires to be i want to be because is too short. She is hero because she will tell you that everthing will be okay in the roughest times ,she will that shoulder to cry on when you need to.
Debi Mazar is an actress who stated, “A hero is somebody who is selfless, who is generous in spirit, who just tried to give back as much as possible and help people. A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really, deeply cares.” Heroes are relevant to everyone, because at some point, everyone has had a hero. Sadly, today’s society degrades the meaning of the word “hero”. Heroes are an important aspect of life, but famous people are not always heroes.
According to The Psychology of Heroism, “...we discovered that heroes tend to have eight traits, which we call The Great Eight. The traits are smart, strong, resilient, selfless, caring, charismatic, reliable, and inspiring” (Cherry). She is very inspiring, whenever anyone needed advice or encouragement on anything in general she was the go to person. She remembers one time one of her players was dealing with relationship issues and she told her to do what she need to do in order to stay safe. She inspired that girl in ways no one else ever did.
An ordinary day of a nurse is filled with enduring hours of physical, mental, and emotional work. A nurse always has to be on their feet and ready to go. They must be ready face the obstacles placed upon them, and make life and death decisions in the snap of a finger. This is not an easy job by any means, and can leave you run-down at the end of the day. It may feel as though the day is a never-ending cycle, but it is so worth the health and happiness of others in
The typical unsung heroes for people, are the firefighters, nurse, teachers or parents. Many people have their own personal heroes, unsung or publicly know, one of my personal hero is shigeru 7Miyamoto, as his made many of my favourite childhood games as donkey
The first story was good, great if I may. This story talks about a lady who feel I’ll fell ill with a heart problem. What heart problem exactly? We’re unsure, nonetheless undoubtedly unfortunate.
