Kelley Sue Deconnick's Character Analysis: Penelope Penny Rolle

Adventurous and dangerous, Louie Zamperini’s life was one that many will never forget. Louie’s childhood wasn’t very great, he would get into lots of trouble from fights and running from the police. When Louie’s brother Pete heard about everything that Louie was doing, so he decided to get Louie into running track, and soon enough Louie would win every race he was in. Then at the age of 19 he qualified for the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Louie then went into the military and then he had been captured by the Japs.

Stephanie Crawford is Maycomb’s busybody, and gossip. She sticks her nose in everyone’s business, even Ms. Maudie thinks so, as shown in the quote "That [Radley House rumors] is three-fourth colored folks and one-fourth Stephanie Crawford." (Lee 45). Stephanie isn’t an especially nice-looking woman, which is shown when Scout says " 'He [the Snowman] looks like Stephanie Crawford with her hands on her hips, ' I said. '

Laurie Halse employs some figures that encourage the protagonist to overcome her psychological anger. Mr. freeman is one of these figures. He is an art teacher in Melinda 's high school who is used to being nice and gentle to all student specially to Melinda. At the beginning of the novel, he tells his students that in the art class " this is where you can find your soul if you dare. Where you can touch a part of you that you 've never dared look at before" (4. ).

In Charlotte E. Howell’s, “Tricky” Connotations: Wonder Woman as DC’s Brand Disruptor,” Howell argues the many points on how DC Comics failed to represent Wonder Woman in a superhero leading role for many years. The author discusses how DC failed to see that the comic book industry fan base consisted not only of males, but also, many female fans as well (141-142). In addition, she points out DC’s use of the word “tricky” in regards to marketing and film production for Wonder Woman; DC Comics couldn’t come up with a way to envision an on screen leading role for Wonder Woman or how to market one (142). As a result, Howell gives examples of how the fans weaponized the term “tricky” to show DC’s business failings (141-143). Furthermore, she points out how the many scripts were leaked and how the public scrutinized the writers on their attempts to represent an accurate Wonder Woman character (144-145).

Meg Murray, is one of the main characters in "A Wrinkle in Time" who was very important in the search for her father and saving her family. When the story begins, Meg is upset and she feels like she doesn't fit in. Her teachers don't think she is very smart, her family is often involved in bad rumors which cause her to lose her temper, and when she compares herself to her twin brother and her mother she feels plain. It seems at the beginning of the novel she wishes away most of her faults, even though they are what will help her later in the novel.

All adversity is dreadful, but depending on what you do about it, is what makes you amazing. Aimee Mullins and Bethany Hamilton are two marvelous girls who overcame some harsh misfortune, though dealing with similar adversities. While both Aimee and Bethany are similar because they both overcame the will to stop trying, they are different in the ways they react to their situations. Both Aimee Mullins and Bethany Hamilton are similar because they lost their limbs, but overcame the will to stop trying. In addition, Aimee Mullins got creative and with help from others, made something to help her out.

The text does a great job of exemplifying the women’s story, point of view, and experiences of the colored woman. Perry’s adaptation breaks the silence on sensitive topics such as sexual abuse, abortion, and rape and brings awareness to the audience. In Ruth Nicole Brown’s Black Girlhood Celebration: Toward a Hip-hop Feminist Pedagogy she states, “Black girls’ and women’s voices too often remain invisible and not valued at a time when our bodies are most commodified, consumed, and made hypervisual in popular cultures” (Brown, 39). In the book Miss Jane Pittman a character Tee Bob developed feeling for a teacher Mary Angel LeFabre. In the reading it drops sudden hints and use repetition so the reader can understand both sides of this relationship. Mary is only there because she wants to help kids get an education. Mary comes to ask for wood the first time he saw her. He became red in the face and almost dropped his coffee.

Do you believe women can do things just as easily as men can? In the novel, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, Charlotte Doyle becomes part of the crew on the ship, the Seahawk. For starters, Charlotte is very brave, she climbed the Royal Yard just to become part of the crew. She is also tough, her knife throwing skills are incredible! Additionally, Charlotte is a hard worker.

Abigail Williams is a Calamity, Known as a wonderful young lady In the village, Abigail is also in love with John Proctor and in this story nobody is as they appear to be. Abigail is a great example of that. Let me tell you more about Abigail Williams. Abigail Williams would be known as a educated  middle class person because she was living with Parris the priest he is constantly scared that someone is trying to ruin him, Abigail was also known as a good young woman except for the fact that everyone doesn 't know that she is a lying to the whole community. Abigail Williams was 18 years old and was also single even though she had an affair with John Proctor “Aye, Sir, she knew her for a harlot”(Applebee et al.221).

How is Catherine unique? In the book, Rules by Cynthia Lord, Catherine was the main character who faced many challenges throughout the book. She has a mom who does not really understand her problems. Her dad does not really play a big role in the story. These challenges often include his little brother, David, messing up things.

In both “Antigone” and “Carrie Soto is Back” the main characters, Carrie and Antigone, make huge life decisions that change their own lives and the lives of others. The primary choice Carrie makes is to come back to tennis after retiring due to an ankle injury. She continues to train with her father as her coach so that she can hopefully beat Nicki Chan and win back her grand slam record. Then something devastating happens and she has to make a choice that will ultimately make or break her career. In “Antigone”, the main choice made by Antigone is the choice to honor her brother by burying him against Creon’s order.

Some of these women created their own punk bands including “Perdone, Berserk, Doughnuts, Fast Times, Walls of Jericho…” (Haenfler 146). These bands addressed the prominent issues regarding sexism prejudice in society. By directly voicing these concerns among the punk scenes all across the United States, these young women showcased their resistance and affected their audience members directly. Through another similar media source, DeGeneres embraces her individuality and fights against homophobia by using her fame.

INTRODUCTION: Dill is an amalgamation of different characters from the story. His attempt to seek attention from others sometimes forces him to stir up an exaggerated version of his endeavours. Dill returns to his home in Mississippi after the trial and talks to his mother about his various encounters along with his experiences back in Maycomb. Being the imaginative person he is and not so emotional before the trial, he has been filled with a mixture of varied emotions.

Within the Bly household as read in The Turn of the Screw, where the governess is the only person able to see ghosts, everything seems as it is falling apart. As the governess starts working at Bly, everything seems picture perfect, but is quite the opposite as the story progresses. As everything unfolds at Bly the governess seems to become progressively mentally incapacitated. As days pass by the governess believes she begins to see the ghosts on a daily basis, and she becomes so frustrated she accuses the children, Miles and Flora, of meeting with the ghosts. The children never admit to her accusations, which upsets the governess to sure a high degree that she even starts to blame the children of conspiring against her.
