Although I am not a fan of a nationalized healthcare, I do believe that there should be resources to address the most vulnerable populations of which you gave a great list. Working in the emergency department puts me on the front line of dealing with these people. Not only is it an extremely expensive way of treating these patients but it is not advantageous for their health problems. They arrive with multiple comorbidity that are not followed by a primary care provider (PCP).
