Hancock was a very wealthy man with a very unusual sense of style for his day. John Adams was convinced that John Hancock was sympathetic to Great Britain even though Hancock voted for independence. When they signed the final handwritten copy of the Declaration of Independence on August 2nd Hancock did his famous huge signature on top of the others’ signatures. Another man named Charles Carroll also put a lot at risk by signing when his father back home promised him 10,000 acres of land, making him extremely rich. He also made statements towards Britain taxes and was sent to Quebec on a job from Congress. When he returned he was not in time to vote for independence but he did sign the declaration and while he signed Ben Franklin said outloud a remark about him losing all his money for signing. Ben Franklin was famous because he was not born into money but made his way up on his own. Another man named George Taylor had an even harder start when he came to america like a slave. He worked his way up and became the first to supply the Army with musket balls. It has much to write about as historical significance because it involves America getting its independence from Britain and what that took. Also this topic can be expanded towards the signers personal lives and what they did to get where they are and how difficult it was for them to sign. This writing raises questions for me towards the atmosphere in the room when the Declaration was signed and also the personal lives of the individuals that signed. Also it could be written about why we needed independence, what it meant, and how it is celebrated today. I could also explore further what would have happened without a declaration and what did happen because of it. This event does not only impact the American history and country but it does impact on a worldwide scale and throughout american history our Bill of Rights has been used in courtrooms to settle disputes. This one act or event has laid down the foundation for our country and still serves today and which is why I believe it is so important. I would really like to expand into the founding fathers personal lives with accomplishments and set back that is unknown unless researched. The kinds of questions I would like to answer is how they started out in life and what they did to get their position. I would also like to discover the impacts that signing had on the fathers and well as their thoughts
The authors of the Declaration of independence are John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Thomas Paine. After the first draft all four authors had agreed on the document to be artistic as well as precise. Jefferson out of the four was chosen to do the majority of the document. Today, we know Jefferson had a difficult time writing part of the document because Jefferson’s landlady recorded his painful struggles in her journal. One, day Jefferson set home for his violin and when it had arrived he would pace a little, then play a little, then the house would become silent for some time then he would do it again.
The declaration of independence was commissioned by US congress in 1817 to paint scenes that depicted the American revolution and the beginning of the country. And it’s was purchased in 1819, and placed in the rotunda in 1826. This painting depicts the second continental congress with John Hancock as the president of the congress. the painting represents 48 of the eventual 56 signers of the declaration. The congress assigned 5 delegate from the 13 colonies to draft the Declaration of independence.

Everyone played a very important role in the Constitutional Convention or the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The Constitutional Convention is rather known for attempting to modify the Articles of Confederation, but the delegates came up with the Virginia Plan which divided the powers within 3 branches of government. The signing of the Declaration of Independence is the most significant event in American History. What many may know as 13 of the 50 states of America before were 13 colonies of the British Empire. The Declaration of Independence was a document stating that they are no longer a part of the British Empire, who which they were at war with at the time.
A variety of qualified people were chosen to write the Declaration of Independence, but in the end, Thomas Jefferson was appointed. The final draft was supposed to be inspiring through its language to give people hope and freedom. With this in mind, Thomas Jefferson had a lot of pressure being the author of the final draft. A woman, who was his landlady, recorded in her journal about hearing his conflict at the time. She wrote about how she listened to him pacing frantically upstairs, trying to think of what to inscribe.

In this paper, I will discuss the majority of all the wonderful things John Adams have accomplished in his life and all things he has done so we can gain our freedom. John Adams helped the colonist fight for their right to independence. He persuaded Thomas Jefferson to write The Declaration of Independence. Adams also was the United States ambassador, he participated in The Treaty of Paris which helped end the Revolutionary war, and was a part of the stamp act.

There are several well-known signers of the Declaration Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, etc..., but that leaves fifty-one other signers that people do not know much about. One of those signers is Benjamin Harrison from Virginia. Benjamin Harrison lived his life dedicated to creating and protecting his infant country.
2. A) The Declaration of Independence best represents the beginning of American identity because it forces the people to recognize themselves as a new nation. They are no longer controlled by the British, but they are now considered Americans. They are not controlled by the British government and can create their own rules that represent the American Identity.

On June 7, 1776, Richard Henry Lee had announced a motion to Congress to proclaim independence. The Declaration Of Independence was an image all colonists wanted to live up to. They wanted all men equal, and the government to be fair. The American Revolution was a political upheaval that took place between 1765 and 1783.The Declaration stated all of this and the colonists said it would be. After securing enough votes for the passage, independence was voted for on July 2nd. The Declaration Of Independence, drafted largely by Thomas Jefferson, marked the formation of a new sovereign nation, which called itself the United States Of America.
Many of you are taught all about the Founding Fathers and how America got it’s Independence. I’m positive you’ve all heard about the famous Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin, and about all his contributions to history. He has contributed to the draft of the Declaration of Independence, but that wasn’t the only important contribution he made. He bought a famous paper, the Pennsylvania Gazette, proved the electrical nature of lighting with a kite, and many other things were done by Benjamin. You were probably not told too much about Franklin’s other accomplishments.
