President Garfield’s assassination led to the Pendleton Civil Service Act because when he became president, he did not undergo patronage for a man named Charles Guiteau, who assassinated him because of that. The service act eliminated patronage after his death acted as a reason to rid of patronage and its affect on government jobs.

Who killed JFK? Everyone 's been asking this question since 1963. There has also emerge many conspiracy theories over the years. I believe that the CIA was involved in the assassination of JFK. Who carried out the assassination?

One of the issue focused on the JFK assassination was whether or not he would have won his next election. The 1964 presidential election could have had a totally different result if JFK would have ran for it. According to Yahoo News “JFK had a popularity rating that was 58 percent right before his assassination”. Also, according to constitution center, “that number was higher than Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, five presidents who won re-election.” The world today would have been different if JFK wouldn 't have been assassinated because Lyndon Baines Johnson would not have been elected during the 1964 election.

This essay will explain James’ personal life, his politics, and even his religion. James’ life started out as any human life. He was born on March 16, 1751 in Port Conway in Virginia. He was raised on a plantation in sight of the Blue Ridge Mountains. James was the oldest of twelve siblings, but unfortunately only seven of them survived into adulthood.

Andrew Johnson was born in North Carolina and had a pretty poor childhood. He was self-taught and didn’t go to school. He married a woman named Eliza McCardle and had 5 children. However, after he grew up and became a senator, he went on to become the 17th president we know as Andrew Johnson. He was appointed after Abe Lincoln got shot.

John C. Calhoun was born on March 18, 1782 in Abbeville district, South Carolina. He was born to a wealthy family that had recently moved from Pennsylvania. He enrolled in a local academy at eighteen years old and attended Yale College two years later. After college, Calhoun spent a year at law school and studied in the office of a member of the Federalist Party. He was elected to the South Carolina state legislature in 1808 and to the United States House of Representatives in 1811.

John Wilkes Booth took advantage of the fact that he was an actor and used that excuse to get into Ford Theater, located in Washington D.C., where he knew that President Lincoln would be with his wife and some companions, attending a comedy. As President Lincoln watched the theater performance, Booth came up from behind him and shot him in the head. President Lincoln could not be saved and was later pronounced dead. Many citizens greatly mourned his death since it was such a tragedy that ensued in a time of happiness for many; just as the Civil War had ended, his death marked the beginning of a new United States. Lincoln would not get to enjoy this new country that he had envisioned since the beginning of his presidency.

Conspiracies. The list can go on and on: Area 51 and the “Aliens,” are secret societies controlling the world, were the moon landings faked, the CIA and the AIDS virus, etc. One of the most known and least understood conspiracy is, ‘did Lee Harvey Oswald work alone in the assassination of JFK?’ Although the evidence implied that Lee Oswald in the assassination, some citizens remained unconvinced that he had acted alone. There is substantial evidence showing the likelihood of a second gunman.

John Adams born in Quincy, Massachusetts on October 30th, 1735. Adams was smart all his life. A the age of 16, because of his intelligence he was offered a scholarship to Harvard University. When he then graduated in 1755, and study at Harvard University. At the age of 20, John Adams was studying in law to become a lawyer.

John C. Calhoun was born on March 18th, 1872 in Abbeville, South Carolina. He went to school at Yale University. After graduating from Yale in 1804 and having spent a brief amount of time studying law in a South Carolina law firm, Calhoun returned to Connecticut to study at Litchfield Law School. Once he went back to South Carolina, he was admitted to the bar in 1808 and began to try and win over his cousin Floride 's heart. John and Floride had nine children, and only seven of those survived to adulthood.

James Madison Jr was the fourth president of the United States. He was born on March 16, 1751 in Port Conway, Virginia. Madison 's father, James Madison Sr, was a very successful planter with more than 3,000 acres and had dozen of slaves. His Mother, Eleanor Conway, did not do a whole lot she stayed at home and took care of her twelve children. James Madison was the oldest of the twelve.

James Monroe was born on April 28, 1758; He went to college called William and Mary 1774 to 1776, He graduated from college and went into the army during the first years of the Revolution. He fought in Trenton, NJ; he almost died because he was wounded (shot) in war, but lived. Then he entered Virginia Politics, after he entered National Politics and had sponsorship from Thomas Jefferson.

John F. Kennedy was a well know person in the United States. He was America 's 35th President from January 20, 1961 to November 22, 1963. Sadly his life was cut short in a trip to Dallas, Texas. The gunman was later founded and arrested but never stood trial because he was later killed. FBI release that it was a lone gunman work but many people say that there was another person involved in another build.

William McKinley once said, “That’s all a man can hope for during his lifetime, to set an example, and when he is dead, to be an inspiration for history.” Any person who has changed the course of history is a man worth remembering, and William McKinley is one of those people. William McKinley, before his assassination, was one honorable stepping stone, set in place, to make our great the country the place it is today. His assassination rocked every state across our big, wide country and it made people uncertain of the future, a future without their beloved President McKinley. At the time, this was the third assassination of a president in a span of thirty-six years, and the loss of William McKinley is one that will go down in history and

John’s mother later remarries and he was adopted by his paternal uncle and his wife. Years passed and in 1750 he was accepted in Harvard College where he later Graduated in 1754. Right after graduating he started to work for his uncle. In 1764 (uncle) Thomas Hancock died, and he then inherited the shipping business.
