He went back to Nashville and went to work as a circuit judge in 1799. He also held a law practice. He was very successful in managing stores, a whiskey distillery, etc. By stocking his stores in major cities, he was elected major general in 1802 by Tennessee militia. He formed many partnerships that ended in land sales, but also almost went bankrupt in 1804 after a failed partnership.

Andrew ¨Old Hickory¨ Jackson was the President Of The United States that immediately followed John Quincy Adams. Jackson´s two term lasted from 1829 to 1837. He was an interesting child in his youth at the age of 13 he joined the Continental army. During the American Revolution he was captured, and after refusing to follow an order given by his captors was slashed with an officer's sword and would have succumbed to the wound if not for a prisoner exchange shortly after allowing him to receive medical treatment. After seven years he accomplished the biggest thing in his fathers footstep, he became president.

Before Jacksons Presidency even began he acquired a bad reputation for being a heavy drinker, he even had his face placed on bottles of ‘Old Hickory’ a bourbon whisky labeled after Jacksons nickname. He was also known to be a very heavy smoker and often called Mr. Chimney, there were rumors he would blow smoke in people’s face who did not partake. Jackson enjoyed fighting, was known for being a womanizer and had a very bad temper that was displayed during his military experience. Additionally Jackson had serious health complications from two bullets that hit him during his time in the military that caused him to have bad diarrhea. Despite Jacksons bad reputation be was still elected to be President of the United States, aside from all the negative sides of him, Jackson was a common man that many people could relate to.

The Great Compromise which was founded at the Constitutional Convention wasn't formed without trouble. Many of the delegates that participated in the convention were wealthy landowners and lawyers, who owned many slaves. They failed to notice the diversity that excited within the nation. As they talked how to repair the Articles of Confederation, issues would arise that would create continuous debates amongst each other. One of the issues that would arise would be the nature of the new government.

We later find out that Polk was happy to no longer be president he says he felt “exceedingly relieved” to be free from public duty. In 1893 Polk's body was transported from Polk's place to a tomb at the state capitol in Nashville. President Jackson was loved by the American people at the time and that he standed up for their rights and the common man. In addition, he was also a feared leader and he thought he was above the law and didn't have to follow them. Jackson was the most controversial l because he represented the good, the bad. To begin, Andrew Jackson is a controversial president because he did good things during his time as Presidency.

I would agree with James Madison because he was trying to help the people. He knew men where not angels at all and if they just behaved then they wouldn't need a government. See the government put down policy's when there is a problem going on. The reason why he wants a stronger government because there is more problems. If things where really that bad i would agree with that because it will never get better if they have strong policy's.

Andrew Jackson during his time was considered a very patriotic politician he hated the rich, he hated the Indian, and loved the idea of slavery. It has been said that he grew up not educated and had a bad up bring but still managed to get to a high political suture. Jackson at one point was general and had a very decorated portfolio, which made sense he would become president, Andrew was most well know for “The Battle of New Orleans” where Andrew Jackson, prevented the British Army and General Edward Pakenham, from seizing New Orleans nearing the end of that war.

The time has come to make a judgement of the great Andrew Jackson, the 7th president of the United States from 1829~1837. Although some people didn’t like Jackson very well due to very few of his decisions, he made many good decisions during his presidency. Andrew Jackson should be remembered as a hero of the common man due to his unifying leadership, generous approach of governing, and concern for economic equality. The first reason that Andrew Jackson should be remembered as a hero is because of his unifying leadership.

Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States of America and had made several great accomplishments for the country. For example, Jackson got the US out of national debt, responded to the nullification crisis, and was a national hero for his service in New Orleans. Even though Andrew Jackson had accomplish great issues with the nation, he also made many mistakes. For instance, Jackson was a slave owner, disagreed with paper money, and he moved all the Native Americans out of their homes to be pushed West. In general, Andrew Jackson should not judged by the values of today society, since times are different today.
