The Deep
An enigmatic piece of art, The Deep, was illustrated by an American painter,
Jackson Pollack. This art is an abstract expressionist painting. It was created in the 1950s. This piece reflects a troubling period of alcoholism in his life. His influences were from Surrealism and Cubism. His depictions of the unconscious derived from Surrealism and the use of picture spacing was obtained from Cubism. (Surrealism and Cubism) The Deep is valuable because it displays extraordinary artistic techniques, it provides several possible interpretations regarding his personal life, and yet it is relatable to viewers’ lives, given the complex nature of the painting. Pollack uses artistic techniques that are unique. He used a dripping method that other artists had not used before that time frame. This painting is made on a canvas with oil and enamel. It has a dark undertone. The essential colors are black and gray. There are some specks of light blue and yellow surrounding the center. The visual look of the painting is distinctive because it does not display a landscape or focus on a particular thing- rather, it is just based on solid colors with non symmetrical, wavy

This piece is important because it is exceptional compared to well-known artists. It has an philosophical interpretation that can relate to viewers’ lives. It is visually unusual compared to other art because it does not have a specific subject, and the crypticness is fascinating because it has viewers thinking deeply about its meaning as they begin to understand the visuals. It is a substantial piece of art because if one is having a difficult time in life, one can glance at The Deep and feel a sense of comfort of not feeling
Greg Eickmier points out That “Pollock’s abstract works had no figurative imagery in them whatsoever and so the idea of an image was replaced with the idea of expression and thus turned any notion of meaning or interpretation towards the perception of the viewer.” When people look at his master piece they be wondering what are they looking it look like he just splattered paint all over his canvas, because his art shows no meaning or no interpretation. Pollock’s art has changed through the modern era, the way people looked at art has changed a lot. During the modern era artist has used a new technique to art as Greg Erickmier points out “ high-watermark that created a pivotal turning point in painting”, people perspective of looking at art has changed during that time period people want to see imagery and some
The artist masterfully expresses various human forms of suffering through a process of engraving the original piece on a wooden stamp, and repeatedly stamping it onto other papers. The work was refined after every few weeks, until the stamp was completely ruined. This engraving is meant to evoke emotions more frightening than any
It took him seven months to complete it. Rivera sketched his mural before he could paint it because it was highly crucial that it was correct the first time. Rivera also used an array of vibrant colors in this mural. The colors were both warm and cool. Tertiary colors are used as well.
1- Talking about inspirations, I need to divide into three different categories: concept, style, and material. The idea for this series of drawings comes from human life cycle and I visualize it based on my personal surreal imagination. The human 's life cycle always start by a zygote, then the zygote becomes an embryo, after born there are two main stages, first is before adulthood when there are many conflicts and variances that shape the personality, another stage is the adulthood when the character is totally formed and all those conflicts become part of the personality. During the whole cycle, changes are needed for the evolution. I decided to show these changes with limbs and their different gestures which express diverse feelings.
The appealing factor of this paintings comes from its message and juxtaposition of colours and stroke
The artist uses negative and positive spaces to create depth and space within the painting. As I stare at the painting, the first thing I notice is how the artist uses light and dark to create balance. Further, above the corpse is a lantern that reflects light more on the right side as it creates shadows on the other side because of its position which gives the painting a more of a chiaroscuro setting. The different shades help the painting become more
Successful artists have the ability to invoke thought and emotions through their work. A picture possesses the ability to express a complete story without the use of a single word. These narratives may induce despondency, pleasure, hope, or several other emotions in an individual. However, this is only the case if the viewer takes note and pays attention.
In addition to the crowded street with more cars “one [is] apparently broken down with a man kneeling to fix it” thus providing an example of workers active in the work field. Essentially, the content of the art is not only provided by the actions of the passengers, but also by what is shown in the crowded busy street. Considering this painting depicts everyday life encourages people to go out and seek a product lifestyle. In other words, it opens their mind up to a different perspective of the current circumstance. In a sense, it provides the viewers to have a more positive outlook of the time.
Jasmine Rodulfo FA 1000-6 Jackson Pollock Artists, philosophers, teachers who influenced the artist Pollack was a nature loving child. Since he grew up in the western part of America he had grown to love nature and animals. Most of his work was inspired by his childhood. Since he moved around a lot because of his Dad, especially at a young age he learned to take in and capture every moment especially of nature. He loved the way it made him feel.
Jasper Johns and Device If you’re clicking through Jasper Johns’ work online for the first time, you may not be too impressed by what you see. A green square with the vague imprint of a target, an American flag placed on an orange canvas. You won’t realize just how revolutionary and influential the art you’re looking at is.
There are also teardrops all throughout the painting which might mean sadness. At the bottom of the painting, there is an owl which might symbolize wisdom. In the top of the painting, there is something that looks like an infinity sign. That might mean people will always be fighting their inner demons. An individual’s role and ability to change the world is that they can shed more light on mental illness and health.
However, the top fraction of the painting is more light because it represent the sun and the other half of this painting has a darkness which can be the shadows of the lights or to illustrate the big rocks. An intuition of my part, is that I think this painting is depiction of harmony in nature. Indeed, the "Cora Kneeling at the Feet of Tamenund" is a painting that reflects the scenery beauty of the Hudson
This piece of art has a very bold and vibrant color scheme, and has a vibrant and dramatic scene as well. Its medium is egg tempera on gessoed masonite. (Hunter Museum of Art). I would say that this painting has a more diagonal line to it because it looks like everything is kind of going in an upward motion. The perspective of Benton’s painting is a picture plane, which is basically the surface of a painting with a frame around it.
Space use creates the illusion of depth in this art
Traditionally, artists portray models in canvas. Meade, however, turns 3D figures into 2D paintings by applying paints directly to the model. This is another example reinforcing how boundless our imagination and creativity
