Recently, Isauro Aguirre, a security guard, attended court for the murder of Pearl Fernandez’s eight-year old son. Pearl Fernandez was involved in the murder of her own child; however, she will be tried separately. Child abuse occurs to many children. In many cases, children usually do not have the courage to speak up. Isauro Aguirre along with, girlfriend, Pearl Fernandez should be sentenced to death because of child neglect, tormenting a child, and for killing Pearl Fernandez’s son, Gabriel Fernandez. Isauro and Pearl should be charged for murder for many evident reasons. To start off, the first reason is the act of child neglect. Child neglect is a terrible epidemic that happens everywhere in the world. Isauro and Pearl failed to provide …show more content…
Keeping a child in a claustrophobic box for several hours is not humane, but what is even worse, without any essential needs. Isauro and Pearl also affected the health of eight year-old Gabriel. Pelisek, an award-winning journalist, said, “According to Ezequiel’s testimony, Gabriel was beaten daily and was forced to eat cat feces and cat litter.” (par.10). Cat litter contains toxics that are harmful to the body, and it can cause serious internal damage. With that said, the second reason why Isauro and Pearl should be sentenced is for tormenting a child. Gabriel suffered numerous counts of unthinkable abuse from both Peal and Aguirre. Crimesider staff reported, “The coroner found the boy's skull had been fractured in numerous places, his ribs had been broken multiple times, his teeth were knocked out, patches of his hair were missing and he had cigarette burns on his body.” …show more content…
Every kid should be able to feel comfortable in their own home with their mother; however, this was not the case. Isauro despised Gabriel for the intention that Gabriel was gay. Even Gabriel’s siblings witnessed the horrendous abuse brought on Gabriel. Marcano, a journalist, mentioned, “Fernandez's 16-year-old brother said in court that his mother would cover wounds with makeup or ask him and his sister to lie to social workers and tell them that the 8-year-old's injuries were from the brothers playing around.” (par.3). Gabriel lived his childhood being beaten and tortured without being able stop it. Another emotional appeal is that social workers were capable of but did not do anything to protect the well-being of Gabriel. Many times social workers were called to Gabriel’s house due to Gabriel’s bruises and burns on his body. However, Gabriel was never removed from the home .City News Services informs,”...reports that social workers repeatedly visited the family's home in response to allegations of abuse, but the boy was left in the custody of his mother.” (par.3). People entrust Child protective services because they play a vital role in the community, but as soon as they fail to do their duty, people now do not have anyone to depend on to keep the children safe. While working within the child welfare system, it is important to recognise the trauma-informed care should explore further into psychological safety of children to benefit their long-term welfare. One of the first focuses a social worker should take when working with this family would be to: maximise physical and psychological safety for the children and family. Workers should have an open dialogue with the family to fully understand what support they need. Through this action, a second one of creating a safety plan may be of benefit to maintain everyone safety. This plan should incorporate protecting the children from their mother and any of her current or previous partners, include everyone’s perspective and what fears they may have (Child Welfare Foundation Training, 2015).

This proves that they could have done it, because if they have a reputation of doing atrocious things then they are capable of doing this horrific crime. In addition, if they are bad kids then what's going to stop them from doing this to a lady. Bad individuals are capable of doing bad things. Kevin Richardson had a scratch on his face.

Chapter 1 I find this very shocking a mother or any person in general would have such a cold heart to be treating their own child like this. The torture and the harm she has cause this boy can really damage him now and in the future. He’s so innocent and to get treated this way isn’t fair hoping he turns out to be alive. Dave is regularly beaten by his mother who drinks too much. He is often starved of food.
