College: Is It Worth It? As a student in high school, the pressure of figuring out what I want to do in the future is real. The idea of growing up and getting a college education seems to be always in the back of my mind and it is hard. What if I don’t want to go to college? It’s hard to even think about that seeing as not going to college is often seen as lazy and irresponsible, but should it be seen that way? Is college really worth it? A college education can be very valuable and useful, I will not even try to deny that, but a lot of jobs don’t require a college education. For example, I have heard a lot of my friends saying that they want to become photographers. They say that they are going to go to go to college to get a degree in visual arts and then pursue their dreams. Sounds pretty neat right? If tons of debt for not that much school sounds neat to you then you have come to the right place! I understand what Schlack is asserting, but I feel that with a college degree you have more of a variety of jobs open to you. Plus, with a college degree I could become a teacher which, to me, makes it worth the hassle of college and earning a degree.
