One of the key components of the government that was developed was democracy. Democracy is a system of government by the whole population of all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. The structure of the government for the Greeks were: monarchy (ruled by a king), oligarchy (ruled by landowning aristocrats), tyranny (ruled by one man who seized power), and democracy (ruled by the people). Cleisthenes was an aristocrat that secured democratic government in Athens. The form of democracy has evolved the ability of the people to be heard all over the world. Democracy allowed other parties to be heard when they thought differently of political points that are trying to be made in their country. The Industrial Revolution was a period when the development of technology. The beginning of the Industrial Revolution occurred in Britain in 1760s. Britain was able to develop multiple types of technology that changed the way of production. The first type of technology that was developed was the cotton industry. During the development of the cotton industry, inventors were learning that factories were able to increase the amount of production and reducing the cost of production. Before factories were created, production of cotton was done in homes. Once factories were created, cotton spinning was done in factories and were operated by men. The first invention for cotton was done by John Kay, who invented the flying shuttle. The flying shuttle was able to help workers produce faster by the spinner being faster. Soon after that invention, James Hargreaves created the spinning jenny in 1768. This machine allowed the workers to operate several spindles at a time. As time progressed, inventions continued to be made such as the spinning mule that was created in 1779 by Samuel Crompton. This invention was powered by human and later powered by animals and water. The changes continued to be made until 1785 and the creation of the power loom, which was created by Edmund Cartwright. These developments have increased the amount of labor by
Karl Wiesenthal, a German inventor, devised the first sewing machine needle, but did not produce a complete machine. The sewing machine itself was first invented by Thomas Saint. Saint’s sewing machine could only sew a chain stitch, which is not beneficial for the clothing, because it can unravel. Elias Howe was not the only person who tried to invent a machine that included the lock stitch, he was just the only one who succeeded. The machine used an awl to make a hole in the material that was being sewn so a needle could pass through it.
Eli Whitney’s invention helped give slavery a new life in the 1700s and 1800s (11). Eli Whitney was a mechanical engineer, who was the first to invent the cotton gin. The cotton gin is a machine that quickly and efficiently separates cotton fibers from their seeds (2). His machine moves like brush like teeth through the raw cotton, which makes the hard task go by faster. The cotton gin grew to produce a thousand pounds of cotton a day in the 18th century (11).
I believe Robert Owen's ideas offered the most hope for improving the industrialized world in the 1900s. During this time there were new fascinating technological advancements. However, with these advancements came issues. People were forced to work in horrible conditions, and big factories meant more people needed to work long hours for a low pay. Robert was disgusted when he saw this, so in 1799, him and his business partners bought the New Lanark textile mills.
The Cotton Gin The cotton gin was a very important invention, created in the 1794, by Eli Whitney. It sped up the removal of seeds from cotton fibers. This invention was particularly important because it sped up the production of cotton.
A number of technological and economic innovations were created during the antebellum era which was around the 1700s. During this era many innovations were created to build up the economic faster and more efficient. The first major innovation develop was the cotton gin. The cotton gin, is a machine that was designed to separate the cotton from the seeds, it made harvesting much easier for the slaves to produce a larger quantity of cotton. Once the cotton gin hit the market industry it expanded throughout the south, making labor not as difficult as it was before Eli Whitney, the inventor, created the cotton gin.
Upon traveling to Mulberry Grove, Eli was informed by Katherine Greene about the local planter’s complaints about the difficulty of removing the seed from the cotton fiber. Eli decided that he would attempt to develop a machine that would make this laboring task must easier. Eli completed the first model of the cotton gin approximately ten days later. Eli’s final version was completed and patented in 1794, and in doing so set his invention to work where he charged the way local farmers had their cotton ginned. The cotton gin ended up being a simple machine composed of a roller equipped with wire teeth that was overall ran by a hand crank.

We should realize how important life and the choices we make, and appreciate what we have and what will come.
These resources helped to build parts for the steam engine. The English scientific thought also helped cause the Industrial Revolution. People discovered different ways to things to make the process more efficient. Jethro Tull invented the Horse drawn seed drill which planted seeds in straight rows with significantly less labor (Document 7).

Samuel Slater Samuel Slater was inventor he created the textile mill which changed the world in many positive ways. Samuel Slater once said”we are destitute of a person acquaint with water spinning if thy present situation does not come up to what thou wishest. This quote explain that he was talking a little about the textile mill because in his quote he said water frame spinning which is a working of a textile mills which gives of energy by spinning cause of the weight of the water keeping the mill spinning. This quote is also one of the reason why and how Samuel Slater change the world. Samuel Slater was important figure in American history cause of his inventions which one of his greatest which was the textile mills.
Ancient Greek culture is majorly influential in Western culture. Major works of literature, art, and political structure from ancient Greece remain relevant to modern Western society. However one can contrast these two societies by observing and valuing the art of ancient Greece. One can differentiate ancient Greek culture and modern Western culture by analyzing the treatment of religious figures, attitude towards emotion, and reaction towards nudity in each society. Ancient Greece was a polytheistic society.
The spinning jenny was used to take the small seeds out of the cotton to get it ready to be bleached. or colored later on in history. James Hargreaves was born in Oswaldtwistle, England in 1720, he received no education and he was never taught how to read or write. James Hargreaves worked as a carpenter and a weaver. Jenny was rumored to have been the name of Hargreaves wife and that is why he named his invention
Greece and Rome, two ancient societies, both influenced many aspects of modern life. Their advancements were utilized in many later cultures. They influenced almost every part of today’s world, such as government, language, and architecture, as well as making scientific advancements. Also, the successes of these two civilizations lead to many countries modeling most of their public facilities and systems after the ones found in Greece and Rome. Ancient culture strongly influenced modern culture by means of language.
the idea of representative government began to take root in some city states, specifically Athens. Athenian reformers moved toward democracy, rule by the people. In Athens citizens participated directly in political decision making. However there were limitations on citizenship to ensure that only the most rational people were able to vote. Through the construction of democracy in Athens, equality of all citizens became greater, and the city would become the top democracy of all the democracies.
