The events that led up to the Industrial Revolution played an important role in how its events played out. One of the biggest events is the British Agricultural Revolution, which introduced machines to automate farming. Also, population growth contributed to the Industrial Revolution because of the new need for miners to collect Iron and Coal. Iron was used in machines that automated tasks, and coal fueled those machines. The Industrial Revolution lasted from the late 1700s to the late 1800s and in that century there were massive improvements in technology, agriculture, and communication. Which were important because they led to new job opportunities and population growth. Not all was well, however, inequalities and sickness also arose as a direct result of these advances. …show more content…
As Document A states, these machines were crucial because they put less strain on the human body. Too much manual labor on a day to day basis can lead to severe mental exhaustion. Mechanized factories helped alleviate that issue to a high degree. New agricultural technology such as the Jethro Tull Horse Drawn Seed Drill, which made farming more efficient because it was able to plant, cover and harvest crops simultaneously. Since farming was now more accessible, the price of crops went down due to higher supply with the same demand. As Document D states, these advances have led to men and women living more comfortably and less stressed out economically. Machinery wasn’t the only form of technology that improved during the Industrial Revolution, there were also advancements in communication. Document E shows telegraph lines that spanned across entire continents, which was a major achievement at the time because you no longer needed to send someone off across land/sea to deliver a single
Accompanied by the latest workplace, being the factory, social lives were changing. For skilled artisans, there jobs were being taken over by untrained workers because they were cheaper to pay and with the use of machinery, manufacturing became faster and easier. Furthermore, the lives of many girls were changing due to the recruitment of young women to move away and work in factories. Lastly, due to the Industrial Revolution, technological growth was at an all time high in America. With innovations such as the steam engine and Morse code, transportation and communication became much easier and more accessible.
New technology increased production but also made work more dangerous. It was common for workers to get caught and injured or killed in machines. Innovations in transportation allowed for better distribution of products. This resulted in more products available and less expensive products. Advances in food production, such as canned meat or pasteurized milk, made malnutrition, especially in factory workers, less common.
Zehra Fatima 1/18/2023 Ms. Gray Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution took place during the 1800s in Great Britain. During this time, the people started to use natural resources such as coal and water to develop factories and machinery, which led to the making of cheaper goods. It was accompanied by many inventors who created technology to develop the production of goods.
This also meant that there was a greater demand for industrial goods which created more wealth for industries and companies. Since there was a greater demand for goods it increased factory production as well. With large amount of resources, materials and growing population the third factor is new inventions alongside the railroad industry. These new inventions such as the telephone which was invented by Alexander Bell and also electricity which created the new age of technology. These revolutionize business ,personal communication in the united states which led to more job opportunities.
The Industrial Revolution affected people in different ways both by bad and good effects. The Industrial revolution was a good and a bad time with both positive and negative things happening during this time. There were plenty of positive effects on the Industrial Revolution. In Document 7 it says about how there was equal rights for men and women. In document 3 employment grew a lot which is good so people could get more jobs.
Document 1 is an excerpt from the book “The Working Man’s Companion” by Charles Knight, with its purpose being to inform workers on the benefits of industrialization. It explains how if it weren't for the Industrial Revolution, these comforts such as cheap clothes, better houses, domestic utensils, and cheap and quick travel would not surround these men. These are all positive effects that came from the Industrial Revolution. The steam engine is just one invention from the Industrial Revolution but it had a huge and long-lasting impact on how people lived. The steam engine was created in 1712, it was a machine that converted steam energy into motion.
Without this kind of advancement from these men’s multiple inventions and factories which created many jobs. The World would still be thirty years behind in technologies. Jobs were created in droves because of these men, which means a lot of people got to work and a lot of people were able to support their families. The opportunities that were opened up for the average American were increased ten-fold because of the rapid expansion that these men were creating. The types of work that became available to the working man were mainly factory jobs such as repair the machines if they broke-down which happened a lot.
The Industrial Revolution needed Labor, Natural resources, Capital. The Industrial Revolution began in Britain because it had more labors and more crops and the natural resources of Industrial Revolution is iron and coal and waterways. The Industrial Revolution a lot of products were changing and they were made of machines. Although the economic effects of the Industrial Revolution were somewhat negative because of hard working conditions it was mostly positive because workers had more rights and they had more products.
In the mid-1700s, industrialization gave birth and made Europe grow quicker than it ever had before. With the increase in industrialization and technology, life expectancy and quality of life are expected to go up. The industrial revolution assisted America with expanding its population and creating groundbreaking technological advancements such as coal, the internal-combustion engine, and oil, which allowed for steam engines, automobiles, and lighting. This eventually led to an increase in life and made things easier but with these came poor factory conditions and harsh labor.
The Industrial Revolution and what came of it is the reason that the world and economy is at the spot it is today. Before the industrial revolution the world looked pretty much the same all throughout history. During and after the revolution the world looked very different. The industrial revolution not only changed the dynamics in family life and work life but also shifted the power between countries, it also caused the world to be the polluted place it is. Studying the Industrial Revolution helps us understand how humans got to where they are today.
The Industrial Revolution was a major part of history. The Industrial Revolution started in England. During this time period, it created a new way technology was created and used. They founded many machines to produce goods and there was a major mass production. Some people didn't like the Industrial Revolution, like the luddites because they lost jobs from the Industrial Revolution.
Technological advancements, such as the assembly line and mass production, made these new products possible. This led to increased productivity and a rise in incomes, which led
Moving farmers to the city to work in factories created more people and more poverty. Since the working class depended on the money they made to live the necessity to work became important because their live in poverty or even being rich depended
The industrial Revolution was one of the most important revolution in the history of mankind. It made it possible for today's technology. What was responsible for the industrial revolution? There was three major points that help the boost of technology in Britain. One was the easy available coal that could be obtained easier than most other countries.
With the use of the moving assembly line the time of production went from over twelve hours to a mere two-and-a-half hours. The main principle of the moving assembly line was that every worker had one specific task that they were made to repeat over and over, making it easier to track where mistakes were being made. These three inventions greatly impacted the ways of human labor, because workers now had less manual work that had to be done, and a lot of machines that had once been man powered were now powered by other forces such as, water. Manual tasks were now done quicker and more efficient, resulting in fewer flaws, better quality, and cheaper products. The total effect of these and other inventions was crucial to the change in the ways of human
