I am reading a marvelous book of the I Survived books called I survived the Sinking of the Titanic by: Lauren Tarshis. I love the series of this books they are so good and most of the time filled with lots of mysteries. Most of the time the book is written in a Third Person…Limited omniscient because the author Lauren is talking as the main character George. The setting takes place as they said the unsinkable ship “The Titanic” It took place in the 1912 of April 15 and was one of the most horrific thing that had ever happened. I think the theme the author was trying to tell us was that the author put George a ten year old boy in the ship of the Titanic to give us a better idea of what happened and what it might have felt like to be on the
The quotes make it more of a tragedy, for example, in the quote “ Of course I should have known he wouldn’t have left without me” This shows the tragedy of his father being gone. This quote also shows how this story is realistic because on the Titanic many people
The builders of the Titanic fulfilled their goal as it became the largest ship constructed. On its maiden voyage, the Titanic quickly ceased after encountering an iceberg. In the poem, “Titanic”, David R. Slavitt gives a brief description of the Titanic and how the world has remembered the legend. Thomas Hardy’s “The Convergence of the Twain” illustrates how “Immanent Will” impacted the Titanic’s crash. Both Slavitt and Hardy challenge the views that people have on the legend of the Titanic by creating a critical tone as well as a duality of expectations and reality.
Moral Courage How do you think you would you react if you saw a plane in a river full of people in it? Well in the article, “The Man in The Water” a passenger, Park Police and bystanders helped people that were 9in a plane that crashed into the Potomac River in Washington D.C. on Jan 13, 1982. The crash happened near a bridge. The moral courage in the story “The Man in The Water”, Roger Rosenblatt shows that people are willing to help others even if it cost the man’s own life by using setting and characters to support the literary element.
The book “I Survived the Shark Attack” is a thrilling fictional tale about a boy who got attacked by a shark and survived. This tale is based on shark attacks in the summer of 1916. The story takes place in New Jersey in a small city called Elm Hills near the atlantic ocean. Chet Roscow is a friendly, brave, and adventurous 10 year old boy. His family is constantly moving because his father is always chasing new business ideas.
On April 15 the unsinkable ship went down into the North Atlantic Ocean. I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic by Lauren Tarshis is about the tragedy of the Titanic. I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic is about a 10 year old boy named George. Living in New York, George and his sister, Phoebe, went to England with their Aunt Daisy. They sail home on the ship of the Titanic.
This conflict between the baker and the rats is another example highlighting the futile efforts of a person trying to keep an unwanted force from ruining carefully constructed plans. Ultimately, despite their conflict aboard the ship, the rats and the Baker suffered the same fate, drowning at the hands of the iceberg. In conclusion, “The Watch That Ends The Night” demonstrates through the retelling of the Titanic the theme of how people attempt to control their environment to avoid feeling vulnerable to fate. They want to believe they can be in control of their own destiny.
The Royal Mail Steamer (RMS) Titanic was heading to New York from Southampton when the Titanic struck an iceberg (Boyle). The first three days were like most days in the Titanic, except for the speed it was going. Captain Smith wanted to arrive in New York a day earlier to break the record (Gavin and Zarr). The next day was not like any other.

The ship fully sunk at about midway to New York City in the Atlantic Ocean. It was the worst tragedy of its time. (“Disaster strikes aboard”, 1). They decided from now on to have enough lifeboats for everyone on the entire ship, so this tragedy would not occur again (“Disaster strikes aboard”,
Titanic was deemed unsinkable because it had 15 watertight bulkheads and a double bottom. The problem with this though was that “the watertight compartment design contained a flaw that was a critical factor in Titanic’s sinking: While the individual bulkheads were indeed watertight, the walls separating the bulkheads extended only a few feet above the waterline, so water could pour from one compartment into another, especially if the ship began to list or pitch forward.” Many people say that the ship was doomed from the start. On April 10th 1912, The Titanic set sail for Cherbourg, France and then to Queenstown, Ireland.
In David R. Slavitt’s poem “Titanic,” many poetry elements contribute to the theme: everyone dies and no one can escape death. The theme is portrayed in several ways. Imagery is shown throughout the fourteen lines of the poem and put pictures into the reader’s mind that help to understand the theme. The diction of the poem helps to reinforce this theme of death. The poem’s diction is comical in some ways, but also light hearted when the author describes the many amenities and people that were on the ship the time of the crash.
There was a book written in 1889 called, The Wreck of the Titan. This made me nervous to go on the Titanic in the first place because the ships had almost the exact same name. I 'm a wealthy woman, although not wealthy enough to go join first class neither was I too poor for the third class. So I decided to go explore the second class, right in the middle of the two. There was still three months and about eight days away until I was gone off to New York.

He couldn’t hold himself to explore this massive structure. His dusty shoes left dirt and mud behind, as he walked onto the ship’s deck. People crowded around the rails, chairs were aligned on the wooden wall, and games of toss the ring were being played. The Titanic had recently begun sailing, as he stood along the ramp, and overlooked the soaring waters. He explored the rooms and halls.
The Titanic is more than just a love story. It’s about two people who come from extremely different worlds and come together. It’s also about a young woman who breaks free and becomes who she was really meant to be. It takes you on an epic journey back to the year 1912. The Titanic is a wonderful love story, but much more lies behind the scenes in the depths of the movie.
