Group Report: The Curious Researcher By Bruce Ballinger

Since graduate school I have identified that I have trouble writing papers on subjects that are not of interest to me. I struggle to remain focus, and I get writer’s block often. It has been established that when and individual has selective attention they are generally working at the basic levels of perceptual identification (Weber & Johnson, 2009). One solution that I have utilized was taking scheduled breaks from completing the assignment. This would include reading a journal or two with taking notes than take a break.

Joey, I went to Credit Advisors, the non-profit organization, and I talk to them personally. They said that I have to meet their manger, Eleanor Hohman, and she is not available today. I might visit them tomorrow or Wednesday again, because I have a hospital appointment tomorrow from 11am to 2pm. There is an established business with a name of Business Pub. This is an organization that requires educated and professionally skilled people to work positions at their organization. A lot of employees that work regular positions, such as administrative, human resource, sales and technology have a bachelor’s degree for the position he or she works. Yet, positions, such as executive, managers, chief executives and other leaders are required to have a master’s degree in the position he or she works. Executives in charge have faced a great deal of environment changes that need a lot of leadership and management skills.

This group of population was chosen as the target respondent because of their ease of accessibility to internet and the nature of company business which require internet access throughout the whole working hours. Every respondent was provided by the company with internet-connected device either a laptop or computer for working purpose. However, any employee who wish to bring internet-connected device such as mobile phone and tablet is allowed by the company as long as they are not connected to corporate network. As I am from diverse background that is raised in the Pakistan and experienced high school and college life in the United States, I often had to go through various difficulties to know what people consider acceptable behavior and what is deviant behavior. Because of this experience, I have gotten better at understanding people. This is very important as this personal characteristics helps me to make sure I do not ending up disrespecting people. By listening to people and observing their actions and their response to different situations, I try to analyze and understand their culture and their moral beliefs. Because of this skills, I try to approach people and interact with them in the best way possible and make a positive difference in their lives.

Watching my presentation has allowed me to understand the strengths and weaknesses of my Isocrates speech. Through the video I could see that my strength was my prior knowledge of the experiment, and I had incorporated credible sources to support the thesis. I also realized that delivering the speech is what I need to work most on. The strength of the organization in my presentation was that I began with a rhetorical question by Dr. Zimbardo.

Last year was awesome, but that does not mean I can’t fix a few things. My first resolution would be to get ready for school faster in the morning. When I wake up I am tired, and when I’m tired I’m slow. To fix this I‘m going to go to bed at 8:50 max on school nights.

It’s an app that enables teleconferencing of members. Members can view each other and exchange audio during a meeting. This enhances communication and strengthens the bond between members. However, it requires technical know how and skills for effective usage of the app. 5.

The entire assignment was basically creating a presentation on a genre we found on our own to show our understanding of the concept. At the beginning of this class I thought that all of the writing assignments were going to be extremely hard, but after this assignment I realized that these assignments really aren’t going to be too difficult. I think this is due to the Writing as a Process SLO and that fact that it really helps break things into easy understandable parts that flow into one another. I’m glad this was the first assignment because it helped me get a good foothold of what this class is going to be without being too

1. The way I participated was in groups, which we were called conference services. The way we made things work, was we divided our tasks. For example, I had to pass out brochure with three other classmates while the other had to pass out nametags. As we worked hard together, we managed to meet the goals of the assignment.

The three assignments that I have selected from the research toolbox assignment are annotation practice, peer reviews/revision plans, and synthesis matrix. These three research tools have been very helpful to me throughout my last two major assignments, the literature review and research prospectus. The annotation practice was a great way to prepare me on how to cite my sources properly. It also helped me to practice on summarizing sources and putting the authors ideas into my own words.

Introduction To date I have completed three classes and one group facilitation exam for this semester. The aim of this assignment is to demonstrate my personal and professional learning for the duration of the module. It will discuss the definition of group work; how I planned for my group exercise; it will outline my learning as a facilitator and observer for a thirty minute exercise. I will use Bruce Tuckman 's five stage group development model to outline the stages of the group process.

All of the information had to be memorized because no note cards were allowed. I was very comfortable giving this presentation and received a high grade as well. Over the past year I have grown more than I could ever imagine as a speaker and it was presentations such as those I had to do with FFA, at my church, and at school that helped me to improve me public speaking.
