Scrooge Character Analysis
Is there someone who hoards money and is very cheap? Well, that person is Scrooge from the play, A Christmas Carol by Israel Horovitz, Scrooge is a very successful businessman who cherishes the money he makes so much that he refuses to do anything to help others. Mean and disrespectful, Scrooge even underpays and mistreats his employee, Bob Cratchit. His dead business partner, Jacob Marley, comes back to haunt him in hopes of changing Scrooge’s character. If Scrooge does not change his ways, he is doomed and will be trapped by his earthly sins for eternity. However, Scrooge does change, shifting his voice from miserly to regretful until finally, he becomes jubilant.

Ebenezer Scrooge changed over the course of “A Christmas Carol” he changed his way of being. At the beginning of the story he was miserly and cruel to everyone and was especially rude around Christmas time. He treated everyone around him so coldly and acted very hateful. Scrooge showed no type of sympathy to anyone; he only cared about himself. He let his hunger for money change the person he used to be in his youth.
In Charles dickens novel a Christmas carol the main character Scrooge makes a miraculous change from being a amoral person to someone who possessed many good qualities. In this particular essay I will endeavour to show these character changes. Also, i will talk about how it makes the reader think about this character. In the beginning of A Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge has not much to offer humanity except for his word.
A big thing to know about Scrooge is that he absolutely despises Christmas time and wishes that people who celebrate Christmas should be burned with their own pudding and be buried with a stake of holly through their heart. (Page 238, paragraph
