The family of Luis Rodriguez, like many Mexican Americans in the border regions from the 1950’s to the 1960’s, faced much disparity in the social and economic realm of their new homes and communities. Living in the United States, they believed, would allow for growth and opportunities not possible in Mexico. In their quests to lead a better life, the heads of many households had to work hard and long hours in order for the sustainment of their livelihood and in Luis Rodriguez’s case, both of his parents worked long and hard hours. Rodriguez’s parents wanted better for their family, but their journey to Los Angeles would forever change the trajectory of the life they envisioned for their family and, namely, for Luis Rodriguez. Born in El Paso, Texas, the Rodriguez family moved back and forth between the border and the region of Chihuahua, Mexico.

Dahmer, one of America’s most notorious serial killers, had a difficult childhood that spiraled out of control and began an unhealthy obsession with killing animals as a young child that led to him becoming a murderous necrophiliac. Dahmer, who was born on May 21, 1960 had a relatively normal life until he was four. “He was described as an energetic and happy child until the age of four, when surgery to correct a double hernia seemed to effect a change in the boy” (Biography.com Editors). After the surgery he had little emotion and was an unhappy child most of the time.
At first sight, no one would guess that these immensely terrible crimes could be committed by such a charming, warm-hearted frail woman. So how did Amelia Dyer become the most notorious serial killer in England? Some people theories are that serial killers nurtured into their evil tendencies through traumatic events that have occurred in their lives. Others argue that serial killer are just born with these evil tendencies without any actual motive to kill. Amelia Dyer, a murderous baby farmer, had both of these theories within her character.
As I was watching the interview, I was astonished. I expected Joel Rifkin to be the typical Hollywood serial killer: a deranged man set on revenge, as a result of being abused and neglected, and now was in chains behind glass with armed guards aiming their weapons at his head. Instead, I saw a stoic person who wasn’t behind glass or had a gun to his head. He just sat there and answered questions like a normal person. He wasn’t angry or remorseful.
The article of Lisa J. McIntyre is about Hernando’s Washington case. Hernando Washington was arrested and charged with robbery, rape, and murder. The main argument of this article is figuring out should we blame Hernando for robbing, kidnapping, raping and murdering another human being? In other words, convincing ourselves about social imagination. From my understanding of social imagination, is what allows us to make connections between individuals and the societies in where we live in, furthermore, that there is an explanation and reasoning for people's actions.

Mass murderers and serial killers are nothing new to today’s society. We learn about them in TV shows, books, research papers, in our classes, etc. Psychologists have spent decades trying to uncover the truth behind these killers’ madness. Serial killers vary in their behaviors, techniques, desires, mental illnesses and their personal lives. Have you ever heard of the Tamiami Trail Killer?
Introduction I. Look around this school and think about exactly how many students are here daily. II. I have chosen serial killers that I found intriguing and that I thought not many people would know a lot about.
