History Of Salsa Music

According to Julia De Burgos (2013) video ‘Bomba Puerto Rican Dance” Bomba is described as a traditional musical style from Puerto Rico. It was created through mixture of three different cultures, as african and Taino cultures. Its rhythm is created by playing two or more drums. Also, this video states that Bomba used to be played during weddings and those who dance it creates a conversation with their movements. Based on this video, men and women had a lot of differents by dancing Bomba.

On October 4th, 1948 she had become known as the Queen of Salsa music, which was in Venezuela. Salsa falls under two categories, dance and music. This term “salsa” was encouraged and retailed in New York City throughout the 1970s. Salsa can relate to some other Cuban genres such as the mambo and the chachachá. To dance is to be knowledgeable about the stories of the ancestral heroes. Dancing, unlike painting and singing, is learnt at an early age. This allows large groups of people to demonstrate their clan rights in front of an audience. Dance is also seen as an occasion to entertain and to be entertained and through the work of dance to show their love for families and kin. Swing dancing has a very unique history and way of development that has allowed it to still be danced often today.
