Some say that the culture along with the music of Hip Hop has been tarnished due to its recent history of drugs, sex, and violence. Instead of music for the soul, rappers nowadays just do it for the fame and fortune.

Hip Hop is seen as something inspiring, but most people see it as a way to speak out the truth about a problem. As in “Hip Hop planet” being able say the truth can sometimes worsen any situation because sometimes what we say can promote violence and whatever happens after is not in our control. For the majority of my life, I’ve heard different genres of music but hip-hop has stood out. Also, I think hip-hop has affected this planet in a positive manner and it allows people to express themselves. I understand that Mr. McBride nightmare in which his daughter comes home with a rapper and his daughter which are getting married. It 's being portrayed that being a man equals violence, poorness, being from the hood, can not be a sucker or you 're going to be tested, have your game face all the time, showing no emotion, and when they pick up a microphone they are a totally different person than who they really are. It was once said, ¨We teach boys to be afraid of fear, of weakness, of vulnerability. We teach them to mask their true selves, because they have to be a hard man. ¨Men want to have so much power, but they don 't have any power at all. Urban and aggressive are commonly considered characteristics to identify as, ‘real hip hop’ and Pop sounding records and moving towards Mainstream compatibility is usually identified as ‘fake hip hop’ . taking examples from two songs ‘Swimming Pools’ by Kendrick Lamar vs ‘Turn my swag on’ by Soulja Boy. In Kendrick Lamar’s track swimming pools, he talks about the peer pressure of liquor and substance influence surrounding his lifestyle.
