For centuries, these pristine woodlands and waterways have been a source of sustenance to the local people, and wildlife, a source of inspiration to writers, dreamers and poets, and a source of recreation and relaxation to thousands of hikers, campers and explorers. If it weren’t for the “New Deal” programs in the 1930s, Tennessee’s State Park system would be unrecognizable and not one of the best in the United States (US). With the assistance of federal money and guidance, Tennessee has been able to create an integrated system of parks that capture the natural beauty and character of Tennessee while providing amazing outdoor public recreation activities. The programs helped establish state parks; influenced Tennessee’s governmental structure to ensure the vision of regional planning and interconnectivity continued; and developed a land planning strategy that is still used today. Visiting any one of the current 56 State Parks will provide an insight to Tennessee’s long history with the federal government.

Dear Representatives, I come to you in hopes that you will consider doing work to improve our local park, James Park. James Park use to be a beautiful place where many community activities were held, such as concerts, fairs, neighborhood gatherings, and picnics. Not only is it not a place for community activities, but it also it is a hazard. We, the concerned citizens, urge you to look into ways to improve James Park.

It is divided into two sections. The Muddy River flows through the northern part of the park on its way to the Charles River. The southern part of the park includes three ponds, Ward’s Pond, Leverett’s Pond, and Willow Pond, and athletic fields. The park is heavily wooded because Olmsted preferred a sequence of open and closed landscapes. He wanted to reveal the natural features of the area to visitors.

Roath Park in Cardiff, Wales opened in 1894 and is one of the most important late Victorian public parks in Wales. Roath Park Lake is home to the Scott Memorial Light house. There are many small curve paths link the roads with the two lakes. The paths and roads were well drained, carefully constructed, and convenient for ease of movement around the park, so people of all classes easily access the public park.

The Earth has been creating many amazing things for centuries which can be found all over the world and has many parks dedicated to these amazing landmarks. These parks can just be normal parks with amazing views or just being a serene place to relax. Some parks however can be seen as being human made and can be just as fascinating as the ones that are natural. While these things can be similar they can also be very different to this will be the focus of this essay and how they can be similar or just different. Introduction Central Park is arguably one of the most famous parks built in America, and it is frequently visited by 35 million guests per year. It also one of the most filmed locations and it is located in middle Manhattan, New York. It was first built in 1857 on 778 acres of public land, but it was later expanded to its current size of 843 acres in 1873. In 1962, while being administered by the National Park Service and listed by the US Department of Interior, Central Park was designated as a national historic landmark. For a long period, the park was managed by the New York City Department of Recreation and Parks but is currently being managed by the Central Conservancy.

On entering the park, I immediately felt calm and relaxed devoid of the anxieties I felt while at the park’s entrance. At the entrance, there was the usual ruckus associated with parents trying to hold down their children, who were filled with unabated expectations, the noise of the passing vehicles and the voice of park attendants trying to direct the park visitors. After a few steps, the noise dissipates in the background, and I was welcomed with the laughter and murmurs of jolly children and their parents. On top of the trees were birds chirping a synchronized tone, the leaves bellowing a deep hum against the wind and the crumbling of the dead leaves as I stepped on them. At the far end of the park, I could make out the faint cheers of a few spectators as they watched the rugby team

I remember walking my way back to school, feeling my skin tingle from the cool, wintery air. I always took the same route back to my house, on the same sidewalk, where all the same houses were located. These houses were all relatively new, with our family having only moved in two years ago.
