To take another term often used to describe a home run, but this more often used to describe those home runs that maybe going over the fence but the announcer isn’t too sure if it will. This is where the possible inductees on my “ballot” that are on the fringe landed. For years questions have raged on why Mike Piazza isn’t in the Hall of Fame yet, and some even sunk low enough to think it was sabotage. I think Mike just had a cloud over his career due to his cohorts that has been lifted after years of coming so close to making into the Hall of Fame. I believe that 2016 will be the year that one of if the greatest catcher of all time punches his ticket to Cooperstown. Others like a Tim Raines, Curt Schilling, Mike Mussina, and Edgar Martinez
Although pitchers seldom get credited with putouts, they are credited with their role in getting outs through various pitching statistics such as innings pitched (a measure of the number of outs made by the pitcher, used in calculating his ERA) and strikeouts. The most recent player to achieve the feat is Anibal Sanchez of the Detroit Tigers in the first inning of Game 1 of the American League Championship
On Saturday, April 15 every major league player shall wear a special, retired number which nobody wears anymore. It is 42 in tribute to the late Jackie Robinson who became the first black player in the big leagues on the same date 70 years ago. Robinson is celebrated as the breaker of the color barrier, one of the best baseball players of his generation, fittingly a legendary figure, and a gentleman. He was an innovator, and the name Branch Rickey the devoutly Christian and highly successful executive who signed him to a contract and nurtured his early playing career is seemingly etched in history along with Robinson.
Spencer Patton, another interesting case, was acquired from the Texas Rangers on Friday, November 20th, in exchange for infielder Frandy Delarosa*. A right handed pitcher with good command, an above-average four seam fastball, and an excellent slider, mixed in with a sinker and changeup, Patton could heighten the interest of both the fans, and the organization. A very aggressive, yet deceiving delivery throws off batters, however, this success has not followed through in the majors. All though you could make the case that he 's only thrown thirty three major league innings, Patton will be twenty eight next season, and batters have hit him fairly hard in the big leagues (6.75 ERA). This season is very important for Patton, who could become another decent set up man under control for years to come, or a AAAA pitcher who will not succeed in Major League Baseball.

Being a Missouri native, Angela Juergensmeyer grew up watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball with her family and enjoying every minute of it. Clemente had collected a total of 3,000 hits in his career with the Pirates. This was a big factor that lead to him having won four National League batting titles. Houston Astros player proposed to his girlfriend after winning the World Series (-- removed HTML --) If someone asks Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa what he did that night, he’ll probably say, “We beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game Seven of a gruelling World Series… oh, and I proposed to my girlfriend!” What!?
In our modern culture we memorialize a lot of things. Things like the achievements of great thinkers from the past such as Martin Luther King Jr. and the founding fathers. Other things that we memorialize are the wars that we have fought in the past, honoring those that fought in them. All of the previously mentioned things are put on a wall, given their own special place, or they have a statue made of them. These things are great and they show that those people did a great thing in their life but let’s be honest, we need to cut it back a little bit.
The Super Bowl is one of the most watched sports games in America therefore , it should be moved to Saturday. Too many people stay up late watching the game and don't want to go to work or school the next day. You might have a child that is a huge football fan that will be too tired to go to school. It is not healthy for kids that are about 8-11 to get less than 9-11 hours of sleep every day. Babies need to have 18-20 hours of sleep and the rest of the time is spent resting.
Cody Williams vs Tony Gwynn: A Comparison of Failures Anthony Keith Gwynn, if I were to say his full name like that most people wouldn’t know who I was talking about, but if I were to say Tony Gwynn then it is a whole different story. Yes, I am talking about the Tony Gwynn who played for the San Diego Padres, and later become one of the most decorated baseball players of all time. Yet, just because he was such a successful baseball doesn’t man he never failed. His failures are what made the man so successful, and just like me I failed quite often. The game of baseball is full of failures, one being a persons batting percentage.
When they look back on Clemente's hard work, you push yourself to be your best, so that one day you can make a change. His actions influenced the choices of several around the world today. He has left a mark in the entire baseball world, and has definitely changed the history of the game
When we think of the 1956 classic “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”, we think of a terrible black and white film about a lizard monster plagued with horrible overdubbing. The audience after finishing the film may feel as if they got nothing from the movie but what they don’t know is that what hides below Godzilla’s faults is an in depth analysis of humans, our shortcomings, and the concept of death. The American remake of the film cut scenes from the Japanese film as a way to introduce Steve Martin to the audience, giving us someone to sympathize with, and minimizing the reason for Godzilla resurfacing and terrorizing the city due to the recent atomic bombings of Japanese cities Nagasaki and Hiroshima during World War II by Americans. Atomic Bombs are only mentioned once as a
