The military adventures during the French and Indian War or Seven Years' War, Washington's generalship in the American Revolution, and his service as the United States' first president. In order to avoid troubles, Washington was granted for a commission by Britain in the Seven Years' War. The battle was known as the Siege of Yorktown, took place on October 19, 1781 at Yorktown of Virginia, was a crucial and determining point for the United States in the Seven Years'

After the siege of Charleston, Sir Henry Clinton traveled back to New York leaving Cornwallis in command of the British campaign in North and South Carolina. On the morning of August 16, 1780, General Horatio Gates chose to fight Cornwallis’ force even though just the previous night his men suffered the terribly infectious illness of dysentery. Gates was confident in his American army of around 3,700 soldiers because they outnumbered the British army of around 2,100 troops. The American advantage ended quickly as one thousand American troops were unable to fight due to the illness they suffered the night before.

General Cornwallis was a general for the colonies but eventually turned sides after falling in love with a loyalist. He then was a loyalist now becoming a general for Britain. General Washington had just won the battle of Trenton with the continental army and needed to resupply after defeating the hessians from Britain on December 25 1776. Cornwallis heard of the victory and went to Trenton with is 8,000 redcoats to overwhelm General Washington 's 5,000 militia men.

On the 19 of October, the majority of Cornwallis’ army marched right out of Yorktown between the lines of the American and French troops. This line stretched on for miles, leading to a field where the British were to lay down their arms and return back to Yorktown where they were later led to prison camps. Although the British still had 26 thousand troops stationed in North America, the British moral was low due to the loss of Yorktown. Replacing the lost army was questionable, seeing that England was also engaged in struggles in India, Gibraltar, the West Indies and Ireland. A year later in the March of 1782, Parliament passed a resolution stating that the war against the US would cease.

The great victory of The Battle of Trenton strengthened the public's hope. Kennedy Hickman also said Howe was shocked by the American victory, so he commanded Cornwallis to move forward to Washington. This time with 8,000 soldiers. Once again Washington crossed the Delaware river on December 30,1776. George Washington united his command and prepared to face the British.

On the Christmas night 1776 George Washington was preparing the Colonial Army to cross the Delaware River and retake Trenton which was occupied by over 1500 Hessian troops. Recently, the Colonial Army suffered staggering defeats at Fort Washington and Fort Lee in its fight for independence. The British Army forced the Colonials out of New York and New Jersey and the Washington and his army sought safety just west of the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. During these defeats Washington had many soldiers, arms, and supplies captured by the British in the process. With diminished numbers and supplies, expiring enlistment contracts, and winter setting in, the British and their Hessian allies were convinced that the beaten and battered colonists were near the point of

The French would later aid the Americans during the “battle” at Yorktown, in which French ships were able to defeat the British Navy who were headed to give supplies to General Cornwallis. As a result Cornwallis surrendered and America won the Revolutionary War gaining their independence and all land east of the Mississippi River. The Battle of Saratoga was an important contributor to winning the Revolutionary War and as a result it was the start of making America what it is

The battle of Yorktown was one of the most important battles of the American Revolution. This battle took place in Yorktown, Virginia September 28th 1781. Before the battle had begun the French had arrived in Rhode Island with over 5,000 soldiers to aid the Americans to defeat the British. This put the Americans at an extreme advantage straight from the start, because the British had only about 6,000 soldiers. The British were also at a disadvantage considering that there was no way for them to get reinforcements.

In history and in the movie according to Patriot Fim fact fiction this event is on the same day January 17, 1781. But the British and General Cornwallis surrender here in the movie. In history this is not the last battle. But in the movie this is the last battle fought. And benjamin goes back to his family.

It was here at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania where the Continental Army Soldiers of the Revolutionary War chose to go after being defeated in the Battle of Germantown in October 1777. During this winter, Washington’s troops came to this encampment to recuperate and train for future battles with the British.

The Battle of Saratoga in September and October of 1777 is the turning point of the Revolutionary War because the French joined with allies, British troops surrendered their arms, and the Patriots had crucial victories. It was a victory for the Patriots in the American Revolution and is the most decisive battles in history. The Battle began as a plan by the British to control New York and isolate New England from the Southern colonies and put an end to the Revolution. Which ended as an opportunity for the Patriots.
