Compare And Contrast The French Revolution And The American Revolution

The American Revolution is known as the political conflict that occurred towards the end of the eighteenth century when the thirteen colonies in America united to obtain freedom from the mother country, Great Britain. This revolution was fought between the strong British military and scrappy American farmers who experienced no training. Despite the fact that the Americans faced several disadvantages, they were able to win because they had assistance from the French, and they had knowledge of the land where the revolution transpired. Without the aid of the French, the colonies would have not had the capacity of defeating the British military. France provided motivation to vanquish Great Britain.

During the American and French Revolution, in both revolutions, the people pushed for a new government that represented all of the people and enforced equality. Even though these revolutions were set in different countries, these battles were similar. The battles in America started with the American colonies. America was ruled by the British people, these people from England arrived with ideas of the Enlightenment from Europe.

Title France and America are two different countries that were ruled by different monarchs and both had a revolution. France and America both had a revolution based on economic, political and social problems. Both of the revolutions were fueled by people who didn’t agree with their government. The Americans on the British colonies did not like how the were being ruled by the British king and the people of the Third Estate were not happy with their monarch. The American, Mexican, and French revolutions were similar and different in their own ways. There was a common cause, goal, and effect of each of these three revolutions in addition to the unique causes, goals, and effects. All of these revolutions were caused by political instability, had the common goal of political reformation that was met through revolutionary events, that resulted in the formation and adoption of a new constitution and form of government. There were many causes that led up to these three revolutions, some are shared by all three, some only by two, and some are unique causes. All three of these revolutions were caused by political instability in the country these revolutions took place in.

The American and French Revolution are both remembered in history as two major changes that would shape what we know today. Every child learns of the American Revolution at least once in their lives. Both these revolutions had the similar cause, effects, and stages that resulted or started them. Just like in every warring country, it is inevitable that there will be some change that occurs whether it be for the better or for worse. Although the American and French revolutions were very similar in the actions, there were many differences leading them into ultimately different paths and states of rest.

The American and the French revolutions were more similar than different. One similarity being is that both the Americans and French wanted to escape the rule of their King. Also, both revolutions were started by an uprising of people against unfair taxation by the monarchy. American colonists protested against taxation passed by the English Parliament without any representation in that body.

Within the period of 1750 to 1914, changes were taking place around the world. New empires and nations began growing and expanding their territory, and as a result of these actions, wars, bankruptcy, and rebellions became more common. An example is the American Revolution, in which the American colonists, who were influenced by new philosophies and the sense of nationalism, fought and gained their independence from Britain. This revolution eventually inspired others throughout the world as it was successful in gaining the colonies independence from a powerful European empire.
