Filippo Brunelleschi was a goldsmith in 15th century Florence, Italy. He was known from an early age as being a child genius because of his mastery of art in all mediums and also of mechanics. He had no formal training in it nor in architecture, though he was able to design and supervise the construction of the dome of the Florence Cathedral. His design was a turning point in architecture during the Renaissance. His motivation was a prize of 200 gold pieces for winning the competition that the leaders of the city were holding in order to solve the problem of how to build the dome. They wanted it done in the most efficient way, i.e. using the least amount of labor and scaffolding as possible. Brunelleschi’s plan that won him the prize
Brendon Marrocco, from Staten Island, New York, enlisted in the United States Army on January 15, 2008. He was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia, for basic training the following May. After completion, Marrocco volunteered to serve in the Army Infantry and was assigned to the 3rd Brigade, Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Regiment of the 25th Infantry Division based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. In late October 2008, as a private first class, Marrocco’s unit deployed to Iraq, where he was stationed at Forward Operating Base Summerall, to serve a twelve-month deployment. This is where his life would take a drastic turn.
The octagonal dome of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence was built from Filippo Brunelleschi, of early Renaissance entirely as a self-supporting structure . This precision structure would be difficult to re-create today, even with modern and specialized tools, so it is one of the most studied historic structures. Massimo Ricci, Barry Jones and Andrea Sereni had a question: How Filippo Brunelleschi built the Dome?
Kenneth Bianchi, was born on May 22, 1951, in Rochester, New York. Kenny was almost six feet tall and was a trim, muscular man, he had well-groomed dark hair and he wore a mustache. He is known to many as the Hillside Strangler, serial killer. Bianchi teamed up with his cousin Angelo Buono for a spree of kidnappings, rapes, torture, and murders that claimed 12 victims, mostly in and around Los Angeles, between October 1977 and January 1978. The men posed as policemen targeting prostitutes to begin with, moving on to middle-class women and girls ages 12-28.
but how it was constructed. Brunelleschi traveled with Donatello to Rome where he studied architecture and sculpture. Brunelleschi was infatuated with the construction of the Pantheon, and especially the dome that sat on top. When Brunelleschi returned to Florence, he tackled the problem that faced the people of Florence. The unfinished
Louis Brandeis’ father and mother were both from the Austrian-Hungary Empire and both had heritage and were descendents of Jewish families whose roots traced all the way back to the fifteenth century. Adolph Brandeis, Louis’ father, while living in the Empire, was repeatedly limited by anti-semitic laws and discriminatory taxes. Louis’ mother, Frederika, was raised in a secular home (i.e. they had a christmas tree every year). (Rosen 29) Frederika and Adolph married and moved to the United States.
Architecture in Europe experienced an unexpected and thrilling change from the Gothic of the Late Middle Periods to that of the Renaissance. The word ''Renaissance'' itself was once utilized to designate European architecture from the rebirth of the classical tradition in fifteenth century Florence, through some four hundred years, to the emergence of Romanticism and Industrialism at the end of the eighteenth century. It is significant that the invention of Renaissance perspective should be credited to Filippo Brunelleschi. To him and his fellow-artists order was a vital basis of fine art, and not merely order but demonstrable, recognizable order. It is this that lies behind Renaissance architects' desire for symmetrical arrangement and proportioned
Bernini (an Italian artist) was a prominent artist who was elegance in his sculpture; he expressed the natural vitality in his artwork in sculpture. In architecture, the early Baroque art moved towards into the sculpture treatments of the Classical orders. Carlo Maderno is one of the architects in Italy who has done his work in architecture (engraving the interface of St. Susanna Church).
I read ”Brunelleschi’s Dome” from the National Geographic February 2014 magazine and learned about his two dome idea for the Florence Cathedral. The cathedral had been without a dome or roof for decades. They knew it needed to be finished, but they did not know how to make a dome that would be 150 feet across and 180 feet in the air that would support all the weight without the renaissance style flying buttresses. They did not know if there would be enough timber, or if they could create an octagonal dome that would not collapse on itself. Filippo Brunelleschi “promised to build not one but two domes, one nested inside the other, without elaborate and expensive scaffolding”.
The Pantheon and Brunelleschi 's Dome in Florence both share a common idea of the dome in ancient history. They were built and different times, the Pantheon and Brunelleschi 's Dome differ in both design and architecture. This paper is going to analyze the Pantheon in Rome and Brunelleschi 's Dome in terms of their constructional and design techniques, and their historical circumstances of the construction of them both. The Pantheon is one of the remaining and properly maintained buildings of the first century.

Consequently, this element of architecture has had a tremendous impact on the imagination of many generations of architects. The Pantheon has inspired Brunelleschi for the creation of the dome of the cathedral of Santa-Maria Del Fiore in Florence. The paper investigates the history of the creation of both objects and compares the architectural peculiarities of both buildings. The Pantheon
However, between Donatello and Titian lived arguably one of the greatest artists in history: Michelangelo Bounarroti. Born in 1495 in the area of Tuscany, Michelangelo was realized of his extreme artistic ability as a child. While Michelangelo saw himself as “an architect, sculptor, painter, poet, and engineer, he thought of himself first as a sculptor”
They gave bigger emphasize to the details of their work and even the detail of the placement of their work. They realized that the placement of their work as important as the sculpture. They took a bigger interest in the lighting of the location their sculpture would have. They now understood how crucial it was for their work to be located in the correct place. Gian Lorenzo Bernini was one of the most well-known and important sculptors of the Baroque period.
