A computer-based information system (CBIS) is an information system that uses computer technology to perform different functions. For example, the google uses internet to accomplish its task, to reach its customers. Computer Based Information System is a field of studying computers and algorithmic processes including their applications. Such a system can include personal computer and software. It aims to support operations, management, and decision making. Components of Computer-Based Information System Figure 2.5: Major components of CBIS There are five major components of CBIS like hardware, software, data, people and network as shown in the figure 2.5. • Hardware Resources Machines: Computers and other equipments along with all data media. Machine is the one in which data is recorded and saved. Computer system peripheral: A computer peripheral is an external object that provides input and output for the computer. Some common input devices include: • Keyboard • Mouse • Touchscreen Some common output devices include: • Printer • Monitor • Projector Software Resources Software resources include all sets of information processing instructions. Software is a general term for the various kinds of programs used to operate computers and related devices. Data Resources Data resources include data and database. Alphanumeric data, Numbers, Characters, Image data, Graphic shapes are the different forms of data. It also includes audio and
Datatype Description smallint 1 byte is the minimum storage needed int Uses only the bytes that are needed. For example, if a value can be stored in 1 byte, storage will take only 1 byte bigint Uses only the bytes that are needed. For example, if a value can be stored in 1 byte, storage will take only 1 byte decimal This storage is exactly same as the vardecimal storage format datetime Uses the integer data representation by using two 4-byte integers. The integer value represents the number of days with base date of 1/1/1900. The first 2 bytes can represent up to the year 2079.
Answer 22: There are two options of either counting the data or the bytes while numbering the sequences of data. Answer 23: Error correction is option when the transmitted data contains redundant information, there are huge delays in transmitting the data or there is special need for
TU170 STUDENT NAME : SALIM SAUD ALAZWANI STUDENT NUMBER : 140716 Q1: Q2: 1) plug-in(computing) we may say it 's program that 's help you to bring data or information from global internet. and we may call it program piece of software code that 's help application or program it could not by itself. plug-ins do things very fast because it 's actually sorts things such as help you to watch video online, listen to online music or radio and play many online games. sometimes we don 't need it but your computer will offers you plug-in and it 's easy app to download if you follow the instructions on the screen.
A Keyboard allows for you to enter different characters such as letters, numbers and symbols. Each key on a keyboard represents a different character on the computer. There are several different types of keyboards, Ergonomic Keyboards, QWERTY Keyboards, and Braille Keyboards. Another example of an Input Device is a Mouse. A Mouse is a Pointing Device which allows you to move the cursor on the computer.
For this particular task, I will be explaining what key components are necessary for client workstations to connect to a network and how to access network resources. I will be explaining the key features and functions of each of these components in relative detail. Network Devices: These are mechanisms used to connect computers and other electronic devices together so they can exchange and share files or special resources like printers or fax machines used in big organisations. LAN is the main type of network device used by the community.
Components Computers have one or a lot of big or small R-A-M chips inside. RAM chips are a random access memory chip inside, the computer uses it to store information that will be used anytime or used to store something like the copy clipboard(The copy clipboard is the thing that stores what you copy to paste later) to delete/change later. There is also a spinning or solid state hard drive that uses DVD like disks that stores information like your video games, pictures, or other things. A CPU is the thing that your computer uses to do all the processing work, like our brain but not like it. CPU stands central-processing-unit.
There is several different types of components that enable the internet and help the web function correctly upon your computer. A few of these things are; Uploading and FTP, Web Servers, network routers, proxy servers, ISPs, Web Hosting Services, and Domains. I will be explaining all of these components in as much detail as possible. Uploading
GUI is a user friendly interface where it allows the user to resize the windows, control the mouse. They provide wide-ranging input device support. Some of the differences of CLI and GUI are as follows: Peripheral is any device that can be added to improve the functionality of a computer. For example an input device which is used to put data into the computer such as keyboard, an output device which is used to get data from the computer such as monitor and a storage device which is used to store data into the computer such as hard disks. Windows is compatible with these peripherals.
And a computer system can be divided into 4 components: the operating system, the application programs, the uses, and the hardware. Without operating system we cannot use the computer. Booting Process To start the boot procedure, turn on the PC. This is known as a frosty boot.
A Software B Desktop computers C Laptop computers F PC I MAC D Tablet E Server G Computer DEFINITION A A set of instructions that guides the hardware and tells it how to accomplish each task. Example: web browser, word processors, etc.
Task 1- Hardware components 1. Motherboard- The motherboard is a circuit that links hardware components together to allow them to communicate and receive power through a bus system. The bus is a series of wires that transfers data packets between components. 2.
The PS/2 ports on the system allow for keyboaerd and mouse functionality to be availible. The optional CD-ROM and floppy disk drive aloow the user to decide how memory is used on the device. There is also a internal and external compact flash slot.

Catherine Daffon October 19, 2017 INTRODUCTION Free and open-source software also known as FOSS is a software developed by an informal collaborative network of a programmer. The source code is licensed free of charge. It refers to limited restriction on user as well as no cost at all. The rising popularity of FOSS has been gaining on widely market because of its no restriction on user that can anyone see, inspect and modify and enhance.
Data Communication protocols are formal descriptions of data formats and rules in which the more than one system exchanges data /information. The protocols cover various issues such as authentication, error detection and correction. Popular network communications protocols used are the TCP/IP and User Datagram Protocol (UDP), while TCP is connection oriented once a connection is established, UDP connectionless Internet protocol. The model for information exchange includes the data source which generates the data to be transmitted, Transmitter which converts the data into transmittable signals, Transmission system which carries the data, Receiver which converts received signals into data and Destination which takes incoming data. TCP/IP uses
The human race has got to see some of the top best inventions during the 20th century, for example- the radio, the airplane, nuclear power, automobile, and the one that has by far made human life easy and efficient is the computer. The invention of the computer has led to some of the most significant concepts, ideas, and inventions that eventually led to the evolution of human life. And the major ones are, the internet, long distance communication, easy and safe research and much more! The computer was invented by Charles Babbage, an English mechanical engineer, and polymath who is also titled as the “father of computers”.
