Summary Of Federalist Paper No. 17

I Agree… “The Federalist No. 84” and “The Anti-Federalist No.84”, both have their views on what should happen to our government. Whether it is to add a bill of rights or not, but I agree with the writer of “The Federalist No.84” because if the Constitution is adopted, then it will be our Bill of Rights, also based on other countries’ bill of rights then it may argue with a semblance of reason. Because I have read both sides of the discussion, I can see who is wrong and why.

Federalist No. 1 Analysis Alexander Hamilton was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He was born on January 11th of 1755 or 1757 in Charlestown, Nevis and died July 12th, 1804. Hamilton is best known for his interpretations of the Constitution resulting in the Federalist Papers. He wrote this piece in order to address the conflicting views for the newly introduced Constitution; being the Federalists and anti-Federalists. Hence Federalists came up with the Bill of Rights as a way to get the Constitution ratified and for people to really see a needed change. The Bill Of Rights which lists specific prohibitions on governmental power, lead the Anti-Federalists to be less fearful of the new Constitution . This guaranteed that the people would still remain to have rights, but the strong central government that the country needed would have to be approved. The 1804 Map of the nation shows that even after the ratification of the United States Constitution there still continued to be “commotion” and dispute in the country.(Document 8) George Washington stated that the people should have a say in the nation and government and everything should not be left to the government to decide.(Document 3) Although George Washington was a Federalist many believed he showed a point of view that seemed to be Anti-Federalists. Many believed that The Bill of Rights needed to be changed and modified and a new document’s time to come into place.

The Federalists wanted a strong central government. The Anti- Federalists claims Constitution gives the central government too much power and, and they worried about the new constitution will not give them any rights. That the new system threatened freedom; Also, threatened the sovereignty of the states and personal liberties; failed to protect individual rights. Besides, some of famous peoples such as " Patrick Henry" and artists have came out against the Constitution. The Federalist No. 10” is a persuasive argument written by James Madison in an attempt to ratify the Constitution. He wrote a series of documents called the Federalist Papers under a pseudonym to convince others to approve of the Constitution. He says that factions are not good for America, neither is a pure democracy. Madison provides extensive arguments and remedies for the problems he is addressing. James Madison is attempting to ratify the Constitution by analyzing the way to deal with factions, comparing a republic to a democracy, and by comparing a small government to a large government.

The Federalist papers are a series of documents created by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay. The papers discuss how the new government system that was beginning to be developed in the 1780s was going to work and be carried out. The authors wanted to write the Federalist papers to create a document that would help to interpret the United States constitution. Federalist papers #10 and #51 were both written by James Madison.

Following the ratification of the United States’ Constitution, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison compiled a list of letters to provide more information to the American public. These letters, also known as the Federalist Papers, detail the specifics regarding branches of government, status of citizenship, and the democratic role of the people.  Federalist Paper No. 67, titled the Executive Department and written by Alexander Hamilton, focuses on the powers of the executive branch and calms the fears of the doubtful citizens. In addition, it provides information on the executive branch’s responsibilities and ways to increase the overall effectiveness of running an admirable government for the newly-independent United States of America.

Since they were all for the new constitution, they wanted to go ahead and make it. But the Anti-federalists didn’t want this. They were hesitant on this new government. So, that is why the Federalist papers were created. These were a series of 85 essays that tried to convince Anti-Federalists to ratify the Constitution.

Due to money shortage, farmers from Massachusetts were unable to pay their taxes and debts, thus, leading to a rebellion by Daniel Shay. The farmers then attacked the nation's arsenal. As a result, congress realized they were too weak to stop them and they were shocked into calling a convention where they would later make a new constitution. Naturally, the idea of a new constitution sparked a clash of ideas between the anti-federalists and federalists with a debate on whether or not this new constitution should be ratified. Though, I believe, the people of the United States should not ratify the Constitution because it gives the opportunity and time for the president to seize power and establish tyranny over our beloved country.

In Federalist Paper Number 70, Alexander Hamilton wrote an article titled The Executive Department Further Considered. In this paper Hamilton using the pseudonym Publius, makes the case for a single-person executive chief for the future federal government. Hamilton writes that the President must have qualities as an “Executive which are the most necessary ingredients…vigor and expedition. ”

In the Federalist Paper number 51, Madison writes to the people of New York to explain that it is necessary for a separation of powers between the departments of the government. Madison, with the help of Hamilton, wrote the Federalist Papers to explain sections of the Constitution. In Federalist Paper number 51, Madison explains that the government does not have a strong structure on the outside, but creating a firm structure within the government could be a solution. The firmer structure would be the separation of powers. In order for the people to get a better idea and make a more accurate judgement about the separation of powers, Madison shares observations and puts them into simpler terms.

Federalist 51 is a primary source from the time of the creation of the constitution. It was written by James Madison on February 8, 1788. It is an essay describing the Constitution 's usage of checks and balances system and why it was needed. At the time, the constitution was newly written. So, under the pseudonym of Publius; James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and James Jay: three federalists (people who supported the constitution and favored a strong central government with power shared between states), wrote the Federalist Papers.
