Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), our 32nd president, contributed significantly to the history of the United States from 1900 to 1940. During his four terms in office, FDR changed the way that people viewed the role of federal government. While addressing the problems of the time, he put forth legislation that he believed would help to solve the economic and social hardships that people were going through. First elected president of the United States of America in 1932, FDR faced the daunting task of dealing with the Great Depression. Millions of people were out of work, banks were failing, the stock market had crashed and there was literally, no food on the table.

Though, changes were gradually made when Roosevelt took charge and implemented the New Deal. He was viewed as one of the most influential presidents because his goal was to lead the country out of the Great Depression. When accepting the nomination, Roosevelt said, “The last 3 years have been a time of unparalleled economic calamity. They have been years of greater suffering and hardship than any which have come to the American people since the aftermath of the Civil War. As we look back over these troubled years we realize that we have passed through two different stages of dislocation and distress.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States created a series of programs during his terms as President in order to aid the country. The United States at the time was experiencing the Great Depression. At this time in American history the US was facing the “deepest and longest-lasting economic downturn in the history of the Western industrialized world”(History.com Staff, 2016). The New Deal was FDR’s series of programs created to aid the country. With this New Deal he planned to provide Reform, Relief, and Recovery to the country during the Great Depression.

Franklin D. Roosevelt is generally recognized as the nation’s 32nd president and an individual who aided the American people in the depths of the Great Depression. Before this event, the president prior, Herbert Hoover, had not successfully been capable of turning the American economy around. Consequently, the Americans were desperate for a president that could support them. Therefore, they anticipated that Franklin D. Roosevelt would alleviate the economic issue. Throughout his first inaugural address in 1933, with utmost candor, he demonstrated that he was reliable enough to take the duty as the president.

Realizing the danger of developing industry, Roosevelt also made sure to protect millions of acres of land in order to preserve the American resources and landscape. This showed Roosevelt was able to think about the future as well since most citizens at that time believed that our resources would last forever and some presidents would have seen the possibility of making big business happy as the right choice in order to secure connections or money. Foreignly, Theodore Roosevelt made three large impacts during his terms. First, acting upon his notion of carrying a big stick, he sent the Great White Fleet around the world to display America’s power. The most advanced naval ships in the world were built and painted white to display a intimidating peaceful fleet.

First, he used the radio to announce the actions taking place during the conflict. He informed the nation that Pearl Harbor was bomb by interrupting all broadcast, changing the mind of every citizen making them want to retaliate and join the war. Roosevelt also used the radio to involve the people at home in want was going on at the battle fronts (The Century, America's Time: Homefront (1 of 3)). Then, FDR and congressed used posters and newspapers to spread word of the problems and triumphs of war. They used propaganda posters to encourage citizens to join and supply the war by playing on the people’s fears.

FDR helped the people through the hardships of WWII and helped create alliance with Great Britain. He was the only President elected four times.

In my opinion president Franklin D. Roosevelt was one of the most prominent presidents the united states have ever had. People were wrong for accusing him and considering him as an autocrat. During his presidency years the united states was facing an era of depression and he generated a group of reforms that he called “New Deal”. This programs was Immediately launched after becoming president of the united states. It was a very complete plan of civil, constitutional, and monetary measures to recover the nation subsequently after the tremendous economic crisis that the united states experienced since 1929.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was a great and confident president in many ways. Franklin D. With his help America was able to recover from the Great Depression. Roosevelt decided to create the new deal, different acts, and motivated people with the goal of helping U.S. citizens with the Great Depression. The New Deal was made to help people get jobs and get the economy to grow again.

He's known for keeping the country strong in times of devastation. FDR never gave up or lost hope. He knew his country was too good to crumble. America proved it had hope, someone just had to find

For one, he helped Panama gain its independence from Columbia in 1903. Also, Roosevelt helped mediate the Russo-Japanese War in 1904 (History). This may have helped the United States to become known as a country with good merits. In addition, he had previous war experience. He fought defending America in the Spanish-American War before his presidency (History).

Roosevelt was around during the Great depression and WW2. Put in many different situations that would freak out the average person Roosevelt handled things pretty well, for example when the stock market crashed he was trying out many different solutions to help the economy and well being of the people. A smart economic move for the country at the time was when the “First hundred days had started”. It was all about prohibition & since the people were stressed about money they needed a drink or two, but since they were buying from bootleggers the government was making no profit from taxes. Roosevelt ended up accomplishing this and completely stopped prohibition for good.

President Franklin Roosevelt was the president during the war. He was born January 30th,1882 in New York. President Franklin helped during the war by aiding our allies. He gave Britain a lot of reinforcement after the Nazi Party captured France. He also established an alliance with Joseph Stalin the leader of the Soviet Union, and many other axis powers.

He was hit with polio in 1921, FDR spent much of his adult life in a wheelchair. A whole generation of Americans grew up knowing no other president, as FDR served four terms in office(16 years). Roosevelt’s social programs reinvented the role of government in Americans ' lives, while his presidency during World War II established the United States ' leadership on the world.
