Wisel focuses on these father-son relationships throughout the entire book. These relationships show the inward meaning of Elie and his father’s relationship. Wisel gives many of these scenarios and is very detailed in explaining them. Elie and his father’s relationship may have been strong, but everything comes to an end at night.

People say family is everything, but did Elie need his father to survive? In Night, Elie and his family were one of the many families forced to live in multiple ghettos and make the long journey to Auschwitz. Once Elie and his father made it through selection they found out that Elie’s mother and sister didn’t, forcing their last encounter to be when they were ripped apart from each other. Elie and his father ate the small portions of bread and soup they were given while forced to work. Everyday was the same.

Father son bonds are arguably the most important and influential things on a child’s life. In Night by Elie Wiesel Eliezer’s father harms his chances of surviving. Eliezer and his father get put into a concentration camp. There surviving is hard enough, let alone caring for and giving your food to your father when it should be the other way around. Although some would argue that eliezer’s father helps him through the camp, his father ultimately weighs him down and harms eliezer’s chance of survival through him becoming increasingly frail and weak, his health deteriorating further, and his becoming increaingly dependant on Eliezer for survival.

Night, by Elie Wiesel shows how traumatic events can bring families closer together through the character relationships of Elie and his father, as well as through the sinister setting of the concentration camps. The characters are the main way that Elie shows the development of a father-son relationship, however the shift in the relationship wouldn't be possible without the horrid setting that the characters had to live through. The characters in Night show how bad times can lead to a positive development in relationships. Before Elie and his father arrived at the camps, they had a strained relationship.

Throughout the book, you learn what Elie did during his time in ghettos, concentration camps, and surviving. But, through most of this torment his father was right next to him. Although family relationship can keep a person alive, there are times when their relationship can be burdensome. Firstly, Stein maintaining hope being he believes his family is alive is a citation of keeping a person alive from family relationships.

The book Night is about a boy named Elie Wiesel and he is 15 years old. Elie and his family went to the concentration camp but then got separated. Elie and his father get sent to Buchenwald.

Night is written by Elie Wiesel and is about his time during the Holocaust. Elie’s family is sent to a concentration camp where he is seperated from his mother and sisters. He and his father stay alive for a while but eventually his father dies befor liberation. The role of the realtionship between father and son plays a big part in this novel.

This novel portrays a first hand account of the Holocaust and the terrible events that occurred. The father and son duo of Elie Wiesel and his father, Shlomo Wiesel, must find purpose in each other to live and survive one of the largest and most cruel genocides in the modern world. Despite you or society’s current conditions, this novel shows that everyone has a motive to live. Even in the most hopeless of situations, everyone needs a purpose in life.

Despite talking about a significant historical landmark for the Jewish people and the entire world, Night takes a memoir-like form and focuses on the life of Eliezer. Variations in the real life of the author and the main protagonist in the events of the writing exist. However, the differences are either too minimal or analogous to each other such that any reader who has a clue about the writer’s experiences will discern the personal approach Wiesel Elie takes as he produces the book. In other words, there are a number of connections, which call for a consideration of a subjective nature of the delivery of contents of the events of the Holocaust, albeit at a smaller niche. Night Elie’s relationship with his father changed drastically throughout the book. In the beginning of the story Elie admires his father, looks up to him, treats him with the utmost respect, and always feels safe around him. In the book on page 20 Elie’s father offers Elie and his sister a chance to escape and flee to a safe shelter. Elie and his sister refuse because they want to stick together as a family, they do not want to part. They makes this decision because they feel safer with their parents then they do by themselves.

Family; a blessing, or a curse? In the book Night, Elie Wiesel offers many significant themes, but the question, “is family a blessing or a curse,” is one of the most prevalent and begging themes in the novel. During the novel, Wiesel often questions if he should try and keep his father around, or if life would just be better without him in the picture. “‘Don’t let me find him! If only I could get rid of this dead weight, so that I could use all my strength to struggle for my own survival, and only worry about myself,’ I immediately felt ashamed of myself, ashamed forever,” (Wiesel, 111).

Family is essential when going through an extremely dark, depressing, lonely period of time, like the Wiesel's did. Elie and his father experienced things that are unimaginable and couldn’t have made it as far as they did without each other. Throughout the book Night the author Elie Wiesel is trying to accomplish the goal of making people understand that there will be difficulty throughout life and family will be there to make the hard times easier. Elie uses imagery, symbolism, and flashbacks to explain the importance of family after his tragic trauma.
