There are many instances in which drugs and alcohol are used, either out of curiosity and sexuality that is new for Charlie even it is common to many teens. According to the author he stressed his desire that the story will reach out the teens who may feel alone or hopeless and help them see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It is started when Charlie plays the role “rocky” a cut and hunk in The Rocky Horror Picture Show because Craig who plays it didn’t show up and even Sam didn’t know why. After that Mary Elizabeth asked Charlie to the Sadie Hawkin’s dance where unique because the girl asked a boy for a date and special for Charlie because it is his first date. Charlie started to ask about girl to his sister. Sam best friend of Mary Elizabeth, give Charlie information about her and how to treat a girl on date. Charlie did go to dance and he did what Sam said. After that everything was changed they have date again, hang out, watching movie, talk every day and one day Mary Elizabeth intended to have sex with Charlie in her house but it didn’t last. Charlie’s feeling was unhappy because he actually didn’t like Mary Elizabeth. He lied to her. This part is become interesting for me because Charlie was a kind of shy person and this is his first date ever and a girl who date him is something different for the other girls so I think it is more challenged to Charlie. I can’t figure it out how Charlie deal with this so I become interested what happens next and read more. The way it is written was amazing because it is in form of letter then every event in the story didn’t write direct or on point, you need to think deeper meaning of it. I enjoy reading this book and other can enjoy it because it is mix emotion felt
