Understand the requirements of written and verbal business communication
1.1 Explain why different communication methods are used in the business environment
In this assessment I will be proving that I understand the requirements of written and verbal business communication.
I want to start off by explaining that I work for a very diverse team, Safeguarding, Infection Control and Prevention and Tissue Viability so there is a lot of variable communication methods that I am required to use in order to succeed within my role. There are two main types of communication that I have regularly used in my role, formal communication is the main type of communication that I use in my work environment as I am required to be professional when I speak to colleagues around the Trust and when I attend meetings. It is my responsibility to take notes and feedback to the group when appropriate, and I need to be aware of the terminology I use to suit the needs of that specific medical group. Different communication methods are used in the business environment to disseminate information in a way that would be most appropriate for the relevant audience; for example when speaking to the Chief Executive of the organisation it is best to use a very formal means of communication

It is very important to identify incorrect grammar and punctuation, sentence structure, spelling, and conventions as a comma in the wrong place could chance the context of the sentence completely. If correct grammar is not used when giving an instruction then an action cannot be accomplished and this may cause a rippling effect, meaning that actions which would be done after the first action do not get accomplished because the first action was not undertaken in the first place. This paper will explain the seven principles of patient-clinician communication. It will then apply three of those principles to my interactions with my patients. Next, it will describe three methods being used in my area of practice to improved communication between the patients and clinicians. It will ultimately choose one of those principles that applies best to my practice and clearly describe how I use it. It will describe ethical principles that can be applied to issues with patient-clinician communication.
Driscoll (2000) model) consists of three stages (What, So what & Now what) completing one cycle help me to improve my caring practice continuously and learning from those experience for better practice in the future. In particular, communication can affect the relationships with service users and other colleagues. When effectively communicating with colleagues, managers or health professionals, will ensure that ideas and opinions are understood. In a care setting, it is a requirement to use teamwork and communicate effectively.
1.1 - Identify the different reasons people communicate People communicate for a range of reasons, which include; share ideas/information, express needs, socialise, express emotions, share experiences, receive support. 1.2 - Explain how communication affects relationships in the work setting Communication is essential in the work setting as it allows individuals to express their needs, to ensure action is in place to meet these. to express their needs and preferences and to ensure they are met. As a carer I discuss the options and the choices available to the individual to allow them and informed choice regards to their care. 1.3 - Explain ways to manage challenging situations
1.1) Different communication methods are used in the business environment to achieve correct outcomes and obtain sufficient records accordingly across a wide range of tasks and requests. The most efficient form of communication should be identified early in the job – considering the current issue, deadlines, state of any data (offline/online) and number and location of all individuals involved. This ensures that the best form of communication is selected. For instance; you need to make contact with a colleague who works in a different department regarding an alteration to a member of the public’s details. An Email would be the best form of written communication as the task is not a priority, all the data could be kept computerized to save time and verbal contact is not necessary.
I witnessed verbal communication between nurses, certified nurse's assistants, bath assistants, and even student nurses. However, the best example I can give about communication and how I utilized communication was during my first insulin injection. Introduction: Being an allied healthcare professional requires not only the ability to meet standards and to be able to work in a consistent professional manner, but also to be person centred, compassionate and a good listener. Person centred care means that radiographers consider the individual, health needs, social background or lifestyle in order to find the best outcome for the patient. Diagnostic radiographers interact with people at the time in their lives when they are most likely to feel vulnerable, feel uncertain about their future or anxious about results. Therefore, person centred care can be achieved through good communication skills such as verbal and nonverbal which can aid the relationship between the radiographer and the patient to promote person-centred care. Also, it is good practice to involve patient into decision-making as it empowers patients and helps radiographers to perceive things from the patient’s point of view.
1.2 – explain how communication affects relationships in work setting relationships in work setting in health and social care are very important we need to build a relationship with are colleagues and mangers staff to enable us to work effectively.it is essential to establish good relationship and communication with service user and there family’s but you must always have boundaries and keep it professional effective communication and working relationships . In order to work effectively with a service user line mangers, colleagues and families you must be able to meet their needs relationships are also governed by body language facial expression smiling and ways in which others listen and talk to you. If the communication is poor between you and a service user and with your work colleague the care the service user receives will not be right for them if you’re not talking to them or communicating with them how are you going to know what they like or don’t like.

Interpersonal skills and effective communication among healthcare professionals are at the core of quality patient care. Interpersonal skills are defined by Rungapadiachy (1999, p.193) as “those skills which one needs in order to communicate effectively with another person or a group of people”. It includes verbal communication, non-verbal communication, listening skills, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and assertiveness (Skills You Need, n.d.). The National Joint Committee for the Communicative Needs of Persons with Severe Disabilities (1991) defined communication as, “Any act by which one person gives to or receives from another person, information about that person 's needs, desires, perceptions, knowledge, or affective states.
[2] Communication in the workplace involves interpersonal communication between colleagues, manager and subordinate. Bad communication is often the root cause of many problems. Most conflict in organizations are the result of misunderstood communication. Effective communication plays a major role in dealing with employer employee relation. When you become an effective communicator, you can resolve conflict and communication gaps among coworkers and employees for example, conflicts arise when the employer and management discussed little with the staff, preferring to make decisions themselves without approaching employees and later give instructions, employees might feel frustrated for not being part of decision making, thus resulting in poor performance.
For communicating in this situation I should promote active listening and open questioning. This should help me to find out as much information as possible which should lead to a more thorough conclusion. Also clear and concise interaction with other professionals like the multi-disciplinary team is highly important. To solve a lot of problems that may arise when caring I will need to show assertiveness and good advocacy skills.
Introduction Business communication is a process where both the employer and the employees in a company share and exchange information. Be it the corporate world or the education arena, priority is given to ‘speaking’ correct English. People in these fields have understood that communication skills mean speaking skills. Most people think that writing skills are not essential for effective communication. But that is not the truth.
