Legacy Statement The knowledge and skills that I will obtain from Grand Canyon University College of Education, will enable me to be an effective educator in the classroom. The educational philosophy adopted by GCU will allow me to apply learning, and serving to the educational profession. The legacy I will leave on the field on education is one that focuses on helping each individual child meet their full potential regardless of their learning abilities and circumstances. As an educator, I will be remembered for my knowledge and passion that I have for my core subject that I intend to teach. I plan to teach my students in a way that is engaging and easy to understand. I plan to make sure that all student’s learning needs are addressed in instruction and any student that needs extra help will receive that help from a teacher or mentor. I will make an impact on students who have struggled and were told they were not going to achieve academic success, by providing them with resources and opportunities to assist them in their educational journey. Given that this program expresses the high school life in Australian, many aspects of the human condition has been analyzed in the film through the support of other characters. The episode was released on 24 October 2007 after being screened via both the official website as well as the television screens.

A child’s education is affected by various elements such as gender, race, environment, economic factors, privilege, and more. These elements shape the outcome of a student’s educational experience and learning. They also determine what and how students will learn. In order to create an appropriate learning environment, there should be a sense of community. In other words, the common goal should be helping students succeed and reach their maximum potential.

As Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Donovan Livingston, a graduate at Harvard Graduate School of Education, has similar views on education. His passionate and inspiring speech called “Lift Off” was given at HGSE’s Commencement Ceremony on May 25, 2016. The speech discusses the importance of education as well as the obstacles and injustices students, especially those of color, have experienced throughout history in getting an education. Livingston’s graduating classmates who are becoming teachers, as well as teachers and educators in general, are the audience of his speech.
DMACC Foundation Scholarship “The length of your education is less important than its breadth, and the length of your life is less important than its depth” by Marilyn Vos Savant is a quote that I hold very true to myself. All of my life I’ve believed that life isn’t about the breaths I take, it’s about the moments that take my breath away. I feel as if my believe fits right into the quote by Ms. Savant as she compares that believe to the importance of education. Many successful people, like Arne Duncan, have said that postsecondary education is extremely important when pursuing success in America’s economic system. When I decided to train to become a professional school counselor, I knew I had a long road ahead. I am trained to be a teacher, a special education teacher to be specific, and though I will be able to use much of my past experience as a classroom teacher in my school counseling practice, I am aware that I will also need to see my students in a new way, a more holistic way. I will need to focus not only on what works in the classroom, but what works in order to motivate and support the students with whom I meet. It is essential for me to determine what will drive me, inspire me to be the best school counselor for both my school and students, therefore, I must determine my professional philosophy of education and school counseling and develop my beliefs, vision and mission statements.
Beliefs: We believe that advanced education will empower students to become leaders and responsible citizens. No child is an exception, no matter what race, sexuality or gender you are. In Golden Valley Academy, we believe that an emotionally, physically comfortable and safe environment will be the most effective way of learning. Learning is an active and lifelong activity that is unique for each member of society so we are willing to mold our way of teaching to help our students residing in this school. Education is a huge issue that not only affects kids and their parents, but their community as well. Schools teach young kids to become the next generation of engineers, technicians, and political leaders, working towards creating a better future for their country and their community. Teachers have the unique job of creating the future leaders of the world, and preparing them for both college and life beyond, by putting a special push towards math and science, the so-called “foundation” of our society. The hard truth is, no one can be anything they want to be. Some people are simply not cut out to be engineers, doctors, or psychologists.
