Hope can help people get through the hardest obstacles in life. These following quotations are examples of people having hope help them through the tough times. People hope that others are still alive even if they could be dead. Not long ago Elie and his father were just separated from his mother and sister. Now it was evening and they were laying in their cots, listening to Akiba Drumer, and the only they could think about at the moment was them. “Mother is still a young woman. She must be in a labor camp. And Tzipora, she is a big girl now. She too must be …show more content…
During the time The Jews were hiding in there blocks when they realized that the officers left two rations of soup unattended. Then someone crawled to them after opening the block door. As the man was trying to get the soup he died there, then planes were flying overhead and started bombing the camp. “But we no longer feared death in any event not this particular death. Every bomb that hit filled us with joy, gave us a renewed confidence (Wiesel 60).” People want to believe that they will survive no matter what and having hope helps with that. These quotes are good examples of hope pushing people till the end. From the quotes, Hope has proven to be a splendid tool to help those in need. Hope can help people through the toughest challenges in life. This is important because people want to survive the hardest obstacles and these quotes show people passing these challenges because they had hope. No, hope may not one hundred percent guarantee success, but it will help you push
Why Elie lost more hope More than six million people died in the Holocaust. Elie and Jeanne lived two very different lives and had two very different situations. Elie wiesel lost more hope in humanity because he had horrible conditions, he was betrayed by his government and after the war his life changed the most. Elies life during the camps were absolutely horrific and unimagimal.
Hope is alive and can be found in more places than one might expect. In Lisel Mueller’s poem, “Hope”, Mueller uses metaphors to describe hope and show that it can be found in many places. Let’s start with the first stanza. In the first 3 lines of the poem, Mueller describes how hope can sometime “hide” from us. She says that it “(…) hovers in dark corners until the lights are turned on,” showing that hope can seem nowhere to be found sometimes (lines 1-2).
Hope is always needed in dark situations to help you surpass the suffering. This is true in most cases where death may lie. In the book Fever 1793, by Laurie Halse Anderson, the Author shows just what a grim disease my do to you, your loved ones, and everyone else on this planet. In the book, a 13 year old girl, Marie, Lives a normal life in Philadelphia until the day comes during the summer of 1793 were the fever strikes it's first few victims. She is forced to try and survive not only the sickness but the people, and places around her.
Hope Hope is the only thing that keeps you dry in a storm. Hope is when you are given something provide off of during a disappointing moment. It is something that is given to help, not to hurt. In Copper Sun by Sharon M. Draper which the main character Amari has been transported from Africa to the Americas to become a slave for Mr.Derby. The plot story of Copper Sun is similar to “Hope is the thing with feathers” by Emily Dickinson because they both show the power of hope.
Ever since humans came to be, they have done many things to ensure their survival. It’s the reason why we humans have evolved as much as we have. Humans have invented devices, accomplished many challenges, and have even relied on nothing but willpower to survive. When somebody survives a tragic event they are left with some terrifying memories that haunt them forever, but a few survivors are courageous enough to share their experience. Obviously, one of the shared experiences is the book called Night by Elie Wiesel.
Overall, Night is a story of hope because Eliezer fought for survival, hope that someday the prisoners would be freed, and that the prisoners found hope in one another. Hope is like when Eliezer Weisel said “But deep inside, I know that to sleep meant to die and something in me rebelled against death “ (Weisel 89). The book Night by Eliezer Wiesel is about how Eliezer had survived the holocaust. Also how Eliezer had brought hope when he was in camp. Night is also about how the prisoners brought hope to one another while they were in the camp.
In the novel, “Night” Elie Wiesel communicates with the readers his thoughts and experiences during the Holocaust. Wiesel describes his fight for survival and journey questioning god’s justice, wanting an answer to why he would allow all these deaths to occur. His first time subjected into the concentration camp he felt fear, and was warned about the chimneys where the bodies were burned and turned into ashes. Despite being warned by an inmate about Auschwitz he stayed optimistic telling himself a human can’t possibly be that cruel to another human.
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. It drives us all. It makes us believe in something even when we think everything is against us. Author Nam Le explores the theme of hope in his short story, The Boat and director John Hill coat in his film, The Road. The author and director explore the theme through character development, scenery, the use of symbols and metaphors also through character behaviours.
Life is full of good and bad experiences, but you don’t always have control of what happens. That can be scary sometimes and it depends on how you handle it as to whether you get out of that situation. In the memoir Night written by Elie Wiesel, Eli, a teenager had been taken away from his home and taken to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Night is the scary record of Elie Wiesel’s memories of the death of his own family and the death of his own innocence as he tries to fight his way out of the concentration camp. Over the course of the book, Eli changes from a believer in God living in bearable conditions to someone who has become profane because of the situation he’s been put in.
Hope, that is one powerful word. Hope is the one thing we have to have to do anything to work you have to have hope to be better off, or if you are going to chemotherapy if you are ill. If you did not have any hope then there is no need for that treatment, and even going day to day requires hope. So if one person keeps the hope of others high, there is nothing that they can’t accomplish. In comparison one man with hope in his heart is the equivalent to one hundred men.
Fight For Survival There have been many defining moments in history that highlight the brutality that people inflict on one another. One of these moments was the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a horrific event that affected many Jewish families in the 1930s and 1940s. This event is still talked about to this day and continues to be shocking to many people because of the level of cruelty people endured throughout it. In his autobiography, Eliezer, a young Jewish boy who was a victim of the Holocaust, illustrates his personal experience in concentration camps.
Hope can consist of staying positive even through the most calamitous of times, remembering some of your precious memories, and even waiting patiently for good outcomes. Having hope can help you overcome obstacles that you may have thought were unfeasible to surpass. There may be times where hope seems out of your grasps. Yo may even start feeling like there is no point in having hope, but a positive attitude can help a tremendous amount when handling conflict. Having something taken from your grasps makes you want to fight for it, but waiting patiently and having hope can also get the lost item back.
Hope can be a driving force in our lives. It can pick up the phone to call that one girl back for a second date. It can move our fingers to type the first few words of a novel. It can push us to do more and be more than we ever thought we could be. On the other hand, hope can be like an opiate.
The development of Elie Wiesel’s tone in his memoir Night, gradually changes into optimistic into mournful which then contributes to the theme of losing of faith and hope. Wiesel’s tone in his memoir constantly stays mournful, but in the beginning of the story, it was rather optimistic. In the beginning of his life, Elie was devoted to the Orthodox Jewish religion, but his hope and faith died everyday as time passed on. When the Nazi gather Wiesel and the Jews were rounded up and herded away into cattle cars for deportation to their concentration camps.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Having faith in a higher archy is a prelevant theme in the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel. Set during the Holocaust, a time of extermination of the Jews, Wiesel’s faith in his god wavers as he describes the situations he endures. One will notice as Wiesel’s faith decreases his identity goes downhill. Although, changing views in religion can affect more than just one’s identity, Wiesel explains his faith in god has a huge impact on his personality to prove one’s religious aspects can affect the way they choose to live their life.
