For Example one type of figurative language that he uses is a Simile he says “And flecked darkness like a drunkard reels”(941). This makes the line more interesting by comparing darkness to a drunkard who is a regularly drunk person. This also shows the moon reacted to the sun. This is how Friar used simile to make the writing more interesting and enticing to the reader. Romeo and Juliet, who were brought up in rivaling houses, fall irrationally and madly in love. They elope, but Juliet is supposed to marry someone else. She plots to escape with Romeo, by faking her death but he never receives the note with this information. Romeo believes Juliet is dead when he finds her, and kills himself; Juliet joins him when she wakes up to his corpse. Author William Shakespeare writes the play in a way that constantly reminds the audience that the lovers were doomed from the start and their fate is to never be together.
Romeo and Juliet focuses on a love story that faces many complications that both lovers face together without a care in others opinion even if they need to face despair. Throughout this story Shakespeare uses many figurative language which include dramatic irony, oxymorons, metaphors, verbal irony, etc. Romeo and Juliet takes place in Verona. The two lovers have a family fuge between the Capulets and the Montagues but nothing can stop true love. Love is the most powerful solution there is although it takes time to put it into action.
Good morning, I am going to start with a quote from the book of Romeo and Juliet, from Friar Lawrence: ‘So soon forsaken? young men's love then lies Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.’ I am talking about Friar Lawrence who is the priest in the play of Romeo and Juliet. I find this character very interesting, firstly because Friar is a wise and very smart but can change personality to a person who is smoking and drinking beer, he is a very strange type of character. The second reason is that he is is able to see into people’s heads and tell what their emotions are just by talking to them.

Dark: A Narrative of Romeo And Juliet One of the most renowned playwrights in history, William Shakespeare has written many famous plays, arguably the most popular of which is The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet. My task for this paper was to talk about how the motifs and contrasts in language show a central idea of the play. One of the most prominent examples of motif is light vs dark. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet contributes a portion of it’s popularity due to it’s almost eccentric use of dramatic irony and other literary instances, (some of which are pioneered by Shakespeare himself), which makes it difficult for the reader to lose interest. Imagery, a common example of a literary device, is the articulate formation of words to develop a vivid “scene” in the reader’s mind. There are many subcategories of imagery, albeit this particular essay will specifically cover his continuous usage of “Light and Dark Imagery”, which are forms of imagery that reference nouns resembling literal “light” objects in conjunction with being “good” objects, and vice versa. In this Shakespeare classic, Light and Dark imagery is used to convey and to even “exaggerate” Romeo’s love for Juliet, and Juliet’s love for Romeo.
Dramatic irony grabs the attention of the audience by adding more suspense. Soliloquies let the audience know the feelings and thoughts of a character, making them more attentive. Allusions give the audience something to think about and this makes them feel more involved. Overall, William Shakespeare’s marvelous job of the use of literary devices in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet will add to his legacy, not to forget, the title of greatest English-playwright does him
Shakespeare is a very amazing and famous writer and part of what has got him to this status is his use of literary devices which can be seen in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. For instance, he uses a lot of soliloquies, which is just one factor to the magnificent writing of William Shakespeare. There is also a common use of allusions, making the writing more understandable and interesting. He also includes dramatic irony in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Interestingly, what we see used very frequently in this play are soliloquies.
