On September 11,2001 it was just an average day for many going to work or flying home to see family. Until… word got out that a plane crashed into the twin towers of the world trade center. It was caused by members of a terror group called Al- Qaeda. The attacks were not accidental they were intentional. Both towers collapsed killing 3,000 people. Another plane crashed into the pentagon, another crashed into a rural field in pennsylvania. The president at the time responded by declaring a “ War on terror”. After the 9/11 attacks the United States began to get paranoid about terrorist. We didn't want what happened in 9/11 to happen again. So the U.S. responded by securing border patrol, having more security at airports and public spaces. …show more content…
When 9/11 occurred, headlines in Paris wrote “ We are ALL Americans Now!”. This has showed that the negative attack has also brought good by bringing the world together. In other countries we have set an example by remaining calm and having patience. Also, while the United States bombed the terror groups we supplied the starving citizens of Afghanistan with food, water and medicine that was needed. We tried our best to win over the citizens, we wanted them to realize the generosity of the Americans and it’s allies. With the U.S being more cautious, we not only did good but we did what we should’ve done in the first place: securing border patrol. We made sure that our borders were secure and after the attacks we added new guidelines to the airport systems, that’s how TSA came about. Also, during our fight we didn’t stand alone, we had other countries standing besides us and fighting with us. In conclusion the U.S responded correctly to the 9/11 attacks.Without the U.S securing the border patrol and going to war with the one’s at fault for taking over 3,000 innocent lives and adding more security at airports and public spaces then another attack would’ve taken place. I feel that there is way much more work to be done, but this is a great
Did you know that the 9/11 attack was not the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center? On the 11th of September in the year 2001, Islamic terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes and crashed two of them in the World Trade Center in New York City. One of the other planes was crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia while the last plane was driven to the ground in a field in Pennsylvania. 9/11 changed American society by improving security but also by increasing ongoing wars. Immigration and deportation were also increased because of 9/11.
1B The way George W. Bush handled the attack on the World Trade Centre on September 11th, 2001 is considered a hero. When the planes hit and the towers fell, as the President he had a hard decision as the whole country was looking to him for calming words in this time of pain. When Bush was first informed about the attack he was walking into a classroom in Florida to read to a group of young children, at this time he went ahead and continued with the children, until he was informed about the second plane. He sat there for several minutes in shock but finished reading; he later said that he was thinking “I looked at the faces of the children in front of me.
Before the terrible event of 9/11 many United States citizens could agree that they felt generally safe living in the U.S. People could live their lives and not worry about an attack against them or their love ones. Everyone was friendly and opened to each other because there was no fear. But, unfortunately the views of everyday living have changed as a result of the attacks on the United States. The continued threat of terrorism has affected the lives of Americans in negative ways. 9/11 has made a big impact and has effected U.S citizens for many reasons.
The 9/11 bombing caused dramatic changes in the lives of many Americans not only because of the sense of unity that came with the painful tragedy of the destruction and loss, but from the United States Patriot Act. The Patriot Act is a law that was passed just 45 days after the 9/11 catastrophe in the name of national security. The Patriot Act enabled investigators to more information possibly associated with terrorist related crimes.
` On September 11, 2001, three planes crashed into the Twin Towers. It was initially seen as an incident but with the arrival of two additional planes, it became clear that the attack was on purpose. The 9/11 attack on the U.S. was carried out by the terrorist group Al-Qaeda ( managed by Osama Bin Laden ) resulting in the loss of thousands of lives creating a comprehensive response from the US government. This attack can increase the paranoia and trust issue among the American people, which would result in a possible increase in national security that would erode civil liberties. On the other hand, the US can become more aggressive in response to the terrorist attack.
The events that occurred on September, 11, 2001 were among the most catastrophic events in American history. The events of the day were summarized as 19 militants associated with the terror group al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out targeted attacks in the United States. Out of the four planes, two of them were flown into the World Trade Center in New York, a third one into the Pentagon in Washington and the fourth one crashing off course into a field. The attacks resulted in the deaths of over 3000 people and the beginning of a soon to come American counter terrorism policy and the subsequent invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Although there are a lot of conspiracy theories around the real motives and players behind the attack,
The 9/11 tragedy was a moment where people had their guard up at all times. This was a time where life had strike to reality of time warfare with every person and country. Couldn’t trust no one that came to the U.S. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, were brave because the generations before us had to face what had happened and to what is going to happen. This had left the buildings torn instantly killing hundreds of many people, getting them stuck in the higher floors. This attack was the worst in America ever since the Pearl Harbor All over our nation saw a major impact of devastation in the face of the September 9, 2001attacks.
This proves that some things we come back with don’t even work. The travel ban was created to make America “a safer place” right? So why is there more terrorist attacks than there was before. The travel ban only made people want to retaliate more. This was our way of creating a proportional response, and it only made things worse, it blocked people from living a better life, and created more chaos.
Two years later we entered Iraq. Many soldiers that were deployed over seas returned home with disabilities, or didn 't return home at all. 9/11 was a scary and devastating time for many families. It will be remembered as one of the most horrible and unbelievable days ever experienced in the United States. We can agree we will remember this day for many years to
The shock and disbelief of 9/11 revealed that America felt that something like this could not possibly happen to us. It showed that the security of our country had been compromised
Many woke up that Tuesday morning expecting to carry on with their daily lives, only to have it pulled out from underneath their feet. Over the course of that morning, four terrorist attacks were orchestrated by the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda, killing a total of 2,977 people and wounding 6,000 more. Life in every corner of America was shaken. Where Americans once felt safe, they now felt vulnerable. Many wondered what was going to happen next, but no one knew.
The terrorist attacks on 9/11 have caused many debates over the years since they occurred back in 2001. Two American planes were hijacked and ran into the twin tower buildings, another was hijacked and headed for the pentagon, but thankfully never made it. Thousands of Americans lost their lives on the days of the attacks and to this day the sorrow hangs with us. Security was a huge debate of the time because America is supposed to be the safest nation there is, so how did this happen? America had lots of changes to make the attacks on September 11, 2001.
These attacks were a changing point in American society because it increased the security in American airports, started a war in Iraq and Afghanistan,
The attacks killed 2,996 people and injured over 6,000 others. Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes. Two of the planes (American airline flight 11 and united airlines flight 175) Crashed into the north and south towers of world trade center in New York City. One hour and 42 minutes after the crash of the planes both 110 stories towers collapsed resulting fire and the collapsing and damage to the other towers. Including the seven world trade center tower which has 47 stories.
9/11: The Day That Changed America Forever On September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists boarded four planes, all transcontinental flights full of jet fuel. 9/11 became the first of many hijackings in the United States. The terrorists turned two flights into flying weapons of destruction, knocking down America’s tallest buildings. The third plane rammed into the Pentagon and the fourth plane was crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
