One of the examples the writer presents is how international students that come to America as exchange visitors are shocked to see the extent of attention and resources used to support sports at schools. It is surprising to them to see the amount of money and time invested in school sports, and how much devotion the whole community pays to those events.

If they cut the sports, then it’s not fair to the students that are graduating because they could of had a chance to get a scholarship. If the schools cut the sports, then there is no chance for the students.
