The Equal Rights Amendment “Human’s rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights,”-Hilary Clinton. It took so long for women to finally get basic rights but they are still struggling to be treated as equals next to men. Many women now have a job and help support their family but they still have to deal with the fact that they will probably never have a job greater than a man. Many women are undermined of their abilities at work every single day. First, women get paid less than men even if they have the same job. Another reason is that, women can’t achieve or aren’t allowed to hold a high job where they work. To begin, many women do not get paid as much as men do even if they do have the same job. For example, women have a significant decrease in salary after they come back from maternity leave, because men think that they can not handle the work they are given along with taking care of a baby (“ACLA” 1). In fact, when women went out, it was to only pick up the kids or go to the grocery store. Men are taking some time to adjust. Also, men are really prideful whether they would like to admit it or not. Working for a woman or even having a lower paycheck than a woman is just devastating for them. Even though men are taking a long time to adjust, it has been almost one hundred years since the women’s suffrage movement ended and it has become socially acceptable for a woman to go out and work and men who stay home and take care of the kids (Imbornoni” 1).
